Lots packed in 1 day
LorraineKelly, Dec 2022
This tour packs a lot into 1 day - mud volcanoes, rock art, fire temple, and burning mountain - all fantastic unique sites of Azerbaijan. Our guide Fidan gave us useful information at each site. The only negative about this trip was that there were a lot of plastic bags (used to cover shoes) discarded around the naturally beautiful mud volcano site. It is such a shame that these are not removed and disposed of appropriately.
Very nice experience...

Very nice experience especially the first part in Gobustan and in the mud vulcanos area. The guide Fidan has been very nice and professional!

My Tour guide Nermin Was absolutely amazing. She was very kind, super knowledgeable, very funny, easy to talk to and super cute. the tour is great, it was super fun and it truly felt like it was one great enjoyment after another. I definitely recommend this tour 100% and I would definitely recommend you to ask for Nermin as she is the best and make this tour all the more special for me. I had a great time and I recommend this tour to everyone.
A rushed tour with terrible lunch, but an enthusiastic guide.

I contacted the company on Viator days before the trip but didn’t hear back. On the day of the trip, I went to the meeting point at 7:30 so I wouldn’t miss the group. I’m glad I did because when they showed up at 8:20, my name wasn’t on the list. I showed them my confirmation from Viator and Nermin gladly had me join on the bus. The tour guide, Nermin was good. Her English was great, she seemed full of energy and seemed like she enjoyed her job. However, the tour was subpar. It felt very rushed all day, like we were sheep being herded from one place to the next. I know there is a time constraint but it would have been nice to walk around a bit on our own, especially at the Gobustan petroglyphs. I liked how all of the places connected to each other and the way they were planned was seamless. The absolute worst part of the day was lunch. We were so hungry and hot after walking in the heat all morning. When we arrived to our lunch destination, we were shocked to see we got a small piece of chicken, a little bit of rice, a small kofte and a side salad. The food wasn’t flavorful. Most of us seemed to eat it because it was there and we were hungry but were disappointed and got up quickly to leave. Food in Baku is delicious and not too expensive. The tour company could have done a lot better with the meal.
never again

the tour which i have picked was with english speaking guide, but she couldn’t say more than her name - Sugara! The second Russian speaking - Kamal, guide who I have joined (as I understand a lite bit Russian, expected me to go on date with him(on the middle of the ture), because I am solo traveler! I will never recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good ture, a specially lady who travel solo!
Long but worthwhile day trip

Rafael and the driver picked me up right on time and off we went. It was a very long day but worth the experience. There's a lot of driving but Rafael keeps everyone entertained with his stories and he's always sharing useful and interesting information. He speaks good English, is very friendly and can provide useful recommendations if you need them. My favourite part was the petroglyphs in Gobustan despite the heat. I wish we could have stayed a little longer in the museum, it felt a bit rushed. Other than that, everything went smoothly. The Fire Temple was also quite interesting. The mud volcanoes felt a little underwhelming to be honest. Overall, I definitely recommend this tour.
Covers the essentials of nearby Baku
HuiLing_T, May 2022
Rafael our tour guide was communicative (we used WhatsApp too) and able to answer any questions we throw at him. He is also a warm and friendly, easy to talk to person. Has honesty and integrity in the accuracy of the information he conveys. Gives perspective as a young Azerbaijani which I personally feel is better than and something different than having an older experienced tour guide. Narrates it in a smooth and energetic manner. He is also street smart. The trip flow is very simple with 5 main stops i.e. Mud Volcanoes, Museum+Petroglyphs, Lunch, Fire Temple and Yanardag Burning Mountain. While driving by Rafael will explain as much as he can about the buildings that we pass. Honestly the lunch was rather below average.
Murad = wonderful guide!
Kayla_K, Apr 2022
We had a wonderful time on our tour through Gobustan and Absheron. Our guide, Murad was knowledgeable about the sites and was efficient with the pace of the tour so we could make it back to Baku before it got too late in the evening. During our time in Baku, we went on 4 tours. Murad was definitely the best guide we had!
Geological mystical trip

The Qobustan trip yo the mud volcanos with the Lada car was a jump to a different era and great fun!
Just right

Well organized, great guide, comfortable transportation and interesting destinations. Good way to see Azerbaijan beyond Baku.
Good full-day tour option for the Baku region
Denise_C, Dec 2021
Had a great full-day tour with all the greatest hits of the region surrounding Baku. Our car was shared between the English- and Russian-speaking tour groups for the day. The English guide we had was great, he spoke English very well and was very in the know with all the relevant pop culture references, and provided plenty of interesting commentary throughout the day. Lunch is not quite in the old city - it was more a local restaurant in a more residential neighbourhood but the food was good (lots of bread and meat).

Great trip! ( not so good food)
Khatira_W, Aug 2021
JUST PERFECT! Our guide, Kamal, was very knowledgeable and nice. Knew a lot about amazing history of Azerbaijan . The driver was excellent as well. Smooth driving and very nice air conditioned minivan. We had a private tour booked , and the mini bus was big enough to accommodate all of us. I am dropping a star because of the food we had for lunch, which is included in the cost of the trip. It felt like cucumber-tomatoe salad was cut couple of days prior and was soggy and disgusting . The meat that came with rice was all, but meat. Very tough, and again felt like was prepared couple of days ago. Gutab size was veryyyy small ( and no it wasnt gorat kutab). The one with greens had some soggy mess inside . Overall pleasant experience with tour except food

Daniela, Feb 2020
Pick up was on time from my hostel and itinerary was followed as shown on the website. Lunch was nice and all the attractions were worth seeing. Really enjoyed the drive in the Lada's to the mud volcanoes. The tour guides were very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Thank you Emir and Ismail for a great day!
Great day in Azerbaijan

Murad was a great guide and perfect size of group. Could have done without the mud volcano site, ashy muddy mess but rest the day is amazing. The Fire temple was the highlight.
Highlights of Azerbaijan
Prasert T, Dec 2019
The guide and driver were excellent. The guide was very informative and explained everything in detail, as if I went for a history class of Azerbaijan. Time was well spent and I had a really good time learning about the highlights of Azerbaijan. Gobustan is my favourite site by far.
