Best of all, you'll explore this beautiful national park from the comfort of your own private air-conditioned boat, including all transport once you've arrived at Komodo Airport.
Start your tour with a pickup at Komodo airport, continuing first to the harbor where you'll travel by boat to nearby Rinca Island. Explore the island's beautiful natural scenery with a ranger as you scout for its diverse wildlife, including Timor deer, water buffalo, long-tail macaques and of course, the infamous Komodo dragon. Then cruise that afternoon to Komodo Island where you'll spend the night aboard your private boat. Spend the second day on Komodo Island observing its many Komodo dragons and its wealth of bird life, returning to the boat in the afternoon for snorkeling at the gorgeously remote Pink Beach. Finish your excursion on the third day in the area around Labuan Bajo, stopping for a tour of Batu Cermin Cave and the area's traditional market for heading with your guide back to Komodo airport. Full itinerary details are outlined below.

Itinerary

Day 1: Labuan Bajo – Rinca Island – Komodo Island (L, D) Upon arrival at Komodo Airport, you will be met by your private guide and transferred to the harbor to board a boat to Rinca Island—a 2-hour boat ride.
Begin your private tour with a ranger-led trek along the Rinca Trail. Walk through typical dry forest on Rinca Island, located in UNESCO World Heritage-listed Komodo National Park. Here, mixed vegetation provides habitat for various animals, such as Timor deer, wild water buffalo, pig, wild boar and long-tail macaque, which feed on various leaves, fruit, flowers, roots and grasses found in the national park.
Learn about the park’s top predator, the infamous Komodo dragon, whose menu includes all of the animals in the area! Komodo National Park is the only region where the world’s largest monitor lizard is found. These giants can grow to a maximum length of 10 feet (3 meters) and weigh up to 330 pounds (150 kilograms). Never fear—you’ll be safe at all times with your guide!
Eat lunch aboard the boat before your afternoon cruise to Komodo Island. In the evening, enjoy your onboard dinner and a leisurely evening in spectacular natural surroundings.
Overnight: Air-conditioned cabin aboard your private boat in Komodo National Park
Day 2: Komodo Island – Labuan Bajo (B, L, D) After breakfast on board, start your private morning safari on Komodo Island with a half-hour ranger-led walk to Banunggulung, a distance of approximately 1 mile (2 km). Here, your guide will point out Komodo dragons in their natural habitat. You’ll see where the giant creatures sunbathe or observe how they inspect burrows to lay their eggs—as many as 20 at a time.
Komodo Island is also home to other wildlife and a great variety of amazing birds, such as sulphur-crested cockatoos, megapodes (chicken-like birds with small heads and large feet) and collared kingfishers sporting bright blue feathers. After taking in these one-of-a-kind natural attractions, cruise back to Labuan Bajo.
Along the way, enjoy lunch on board the boat. You’ll have the opportunity to swim and snorkel at Pink Beach (Pantai Merah) in the afternoon. Savor the panoramic view of the turquoise sea against a backdrop of blue skies, rolling hills and rocky cliffs as you stroll along the soft sand, which is actually pink. From this remote beach on an uninhabited island, dip into the calm, clear waters and spot an amazing array of marine life amid the colorful coral.
In the evening, enjoy your onboard dinner and relax.
Overnight: Air-conditioned cabin aboard your private boat in Komodo National Park
Day 3: Labuan Bajo – Denpasar (B)Enjoy your onboard breakfast before disembarking at Labuan Bajo. If time permits, you’ll take a short sightseeing tour of Batu Cermin Cave—translated into Indonesian as Mirror Rock—which actually belongs to a series of caves. Your guide will point out how the impressive limestone outcrop got its name. (Hint: Watch the sunlight reflect off the rock, creating a spectacular visual effect on the cave walls!) Keep an eye out for long-tailed monkeys, and take in the panoramic view of the mainland and islands near Labuan Bajo.
En route to Komodo Airport, view the traditional market in Labuan Bajo, boasting a wealth of local goods such as fruit, seafood and meat. Your guide will transfer you to the airport in time for your onward flight. (Flight is at own expense unless round-trip air transfer upgrade is selected for the return to Denpasar. See details below.)
Optional Upgrade: Round-trip Air from Denpasar

The cruise was good, going to Rinca Island first and then spending the first night offshore from Komodo. Ari, our guide, was extremely helpful dealing with a problem I had with an ATM in Labuan Bajo, and later being better than the local guides at Rinca and Komodo, as well as pointing out interesting features when we went snorkelling. The crew of the Kantartika was also extremely good, starting with Captain Mahmoud, with his two sons who will probably take over from him when he retires, Chef Richard how he managed to prepare some delicious dishes in such a small galley was a miracle, and dinghy handler extraordinaire, the red headed Hans. There was another person on board that I did not get his name and never found out what he did. The cabin was fine and the shower and toilet facilities were also good.I have to admit that I expected a larger cabin for the cost of the trip but the boat did have a sun deck, which was a delight. The last night is spent offshore Labuan Bajo, which seems a bit strange to me. The last day, is spent going to a cave and getting to know some of the features of Labuan Bajo. All very good, and Ari as our guide went beyond his remit and made the trip truly memorable. Certainly, without him we would not have seen as much as we did.
