This was a brilliant tour to experience the real culture of Bali. Wayan took us to see a typical Balinese compound which was not part of the program but he definitely knew the importance of taking us there. Wayan was very knowledgeable and made sure we were in safe hands at all times. Wayan took care of us, had water readily available and took amazing photos! My partner and I had an amazing time on this tour and definitely recommend this to first time travellers - even to experience travellers! Nothing beats having a tour guide that knows Bali like no other! Thanks Wayan, until next time! Krish and Pauline

Our tour guide, Trisna, was great! His English was good, and he told us a lot about Balinese religion and norms. The tour was great showing a lot from the Ubud region which would be hard to visit by our selves, and he knew how to avoid the crowds. HIGHLY recommended!

Excellent tour. Our driver and guide, Trishna, gave us the choice of where we wanted to stop on the way to our first official stop at the water temple Pura Tirta Empul. We decided to stop at the batik and wood carving shops. The batik display and shop was good as there was no pressure to buy but at the wood carving stop we were the only visitors at the time so were stalked as we browsed the shop.

The water temple was very peaceful and interesting seeing all the people lining up to bathe in the spring water. As we drove on up to Kintamani for our lunch break the rain set in meaning when we got to our lunch stop cloud obscured the volcano and lake we'd come to see. Thankfully the cloud cleared enough to get a brief glimpse of both. Lunch was good but the drinks are very expensive for Bali!

We stopped at the market in Ubud on the way back but as it was still raining a lot of stalls were closed. We managed to buy some things we were after before heading back to the hotel. We skipped the monkey forest due to the weather and the fact we'd been to another monkey forest the day before.

Overall, I'd recommend the tour and thank Trishna for driving us through the torrential rain. On a nicer day the tour would have been much better.

3 star rating: Worth doing June 2016

It is worth doing but a little overpriced for what you get. You are better off chartering a car because the driver on this 'tour' spoke such poor English that he was not much of a guide at all. It was a private tour but we could not really customize it as much as we would have wished and we felt we missed out on some places actually mentioned in the itinerary which was not good. Our advice: save money by just chartering a car for the day!
