Begin your tour with pickup from your Bandar Seri Begawan hotel and a short transfer to the boat jetty in time for a 7.15am or 3pm departure (depending on tour option selected). Traveling on-board a traditional open-air wooden boat, admire views of the modern city as you cruise down the Brunei River and pass the grand Istana Nurul Iman palace, the world’s largest residential palace.
Continue along the river, leaving the city behind and gliding through mangrove forests to discover Brunei’s natural wonders. Look out for rare Proboscis monkeys, which can only be found on the Indonesian islands of Borneo and Sumatra, and are famous for their distinctive brightly colored noses. Other possible animal sightings include mudskippers, monitor lizards, white egret, night heron, and blue-throated or red kingfishers.
After a 3-hour cruise, return to the jetty, where a driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.
