What You Can Expect

Bangkok Canal Tour by Boat and Bike

Bangkok Canal Tour by Boat and Bike

Make your own way to Khoasan Road to meet your guide near the heart of Bangkok's backpacker district.

Start by getting fitted with a bike and helmet, then receive a safety briefing before setting off with your guide. Ride through central Bangkok, taking small side streets where you can observe daily life for Thai people. At the Chao Phraya River, board a boat to cruise along the river and atmospheric canals known as khlongs. Enjoy a new perspective on Bangkok and landmarks such as the Grand Palace and Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn).

Disembark along Bang Luang Canal at an old trading center where you bike around to view historic temples, then stop for a traditional Thai lunch at a waterside restaurant. After eating, meander through a local market then head inside a typical old-style wooden house to watch a traditional Thai puppet show.
Next up, pedal through the Old City (Rattanakosin) to admire some gorgeous out-of-the-way temples, including Wat Hongrattanaram and Wat Kalyanamit, a Chinese-Thai temple that shelters the city's largest Buddha sculpture, located at the site of Bangkok’s original Chinatown.
Wind down your 5-hour tour with a spin around historic Rattanakosin Island, where Bangkok was founded in 1782. Pass by important sites such as the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Mahathat.
Once you have seen Rattanakosin Island by bike, follow your guide back to your starting point on Khao San Road where your tour ends.

Excellent care for safety from the 2 leaders. Interesting and informative tour sensibly paced. Really, REALLY wished we'd had time for another tour with grasshoppers.

Highly recommend taking this tour. Our Grasshopper tour guide Tik, was excellent. He expertly guided us through the hustle and bustle of Bangkok's streets and lanes, taking care to avoid busy traffic where possible.

The flower market, Wat Kalayanamitr- a towering golden Buddha and a traditional Thai puppet show and the boat trip were a few of the must see highlights of this tour.

Lunch, bikes and service you receive on this tour are of a high standard and certainly a great way to experience the sights of this vibrant city.

My husband myself and two teenagers did the bicycle tour of old Bangkok and had a blast. We got to see things that we would have I otherwise missed, quaint authentic houses on the river, authentic Thai food, beautiful temples, historical puppet show. Our guide Tik was lovely very informative and went easy on us considering it was lose to 35 degrees. The tour was expensive in Thai terms however I felt that we all learn and experienced so much it was worth it. I can highly recommend the tour.

We really enjoyed that tour. Our tour guide made it even better. This is the best formula to see Bangkok off the beaten track. I would not change anything and next time we're in Bangkok we'll take it again because there are so many things to discover in that amazing city.
