Traveler Tips

The Wat Phra Kaew can be very crowded with multiple tour groups if you don't go early in the morning.
If you’re limited on time and want to see a lot in one day, this would not be the tour for you.

Great way to see the Grand Palace!
James_V, Jan 2021
I had a personal tour with Tum so I got to spend time with her as we journeyed through the Temple and Grand Palace areas in Bangkok. There is no doubt that Tum went above-and-beyond to make sure the tour was a good experience for me, including little things being sensitive to when I needed to take a break and making sure I was able to stay out of the sun as much as possible. Tum also had all the facts and points of interest ready to communicate clearly in an easy-to-understand English. I sure appreciated Tum's professional manner and always being ready to answer a question I might have! Awesome tour!!
A memorable experience!

Both the guide and the driver worked well together. The driver was punctual and professional. We were a little early arriving at the Royal Palace so he gave us a little sightseeing tour of Bangkok. Our guide was interesting, inciteful and had a great sense of humor. Thank you again!
This is actually the Wat Phra Kaew Tour

Only the front of the Grand Palace can be viewed from a distance. The Wat Phra Kaew can be very crowded with multiple tour groups if you don't go early in the morning. The Viator guide did an excellent job because I happened to be the only person in the group.
Incredible Dat!

Grand Palace Tour

Our tour guide arrived early at our Hotel. He was supposed to be at the hotel by 7:30 but as early as 6:30 he was already on the hotel lobby. So up and we go as we pick up another couple at a nearby hotel and there we go to our destination The Grand Palace Tour. On our way Vichai our guide tell us the storied origin of the Grand Palaces. from the time of King Rama I up to the reigning King Rama 10. Overall we have a grand time for this tour as Vichai gamely answer all our querries about the site. We will surely return and this time with our kids in tow. Thank you.
Good tour...not great.

The grand palace complex was very beautiful but very crowded. You don’t get to go inside the palace. Tour guide didn’t speak great English, but she did her best. If you’re limited on time and want to see a lot in one day, this would not be the tour for you. It was only the complex.

I will not give any stars for this tour. I absolutely hated this tour. The guide had heavy accent and were not answering our question, probably was not able to understand. They were changing cars at every location we were stopped and were very annoying. We had to wait for driver in the car, after I asked many times what's taking so long, i am here to sit in the car and paid so much money...they were just not nice and chit chatting outside without communicating to us that whats taking long. Tour guide will disappear here and there. She will tell us I will see you in the lobby when you are done, but when we get there, we had to wait for her. I am never booking any tours from this site again. Hence NO STARS

Our guide was ok. Not a lot of information about the actual sites. We could have purchased tickets on our own and walked around. This is a beautiful site and definitely worth seeing! Next time I visit, it will be on my own, however.

So disappointed with this tour. Our guide seemed totally disinterested and didn’t give us much info on what we were seeing. But what really bothered me was that they took us 45 min out of our way on the way home to a horrible touristy gem shop, one of those huge tour bus stops.

Palace itself was great, even though it was over 30 degrees. The tour only gets 3 stars because the tour shuttle and the guide were only so so. It took ages from the hotel to the palace and back and the tour guide was not friendly at all.

A great experience of such a large facility.... disappointed in the size of the Emerald Buddha... somehow I expected something larger.... perhaps that's why photos were not permitted... very crowded but that's to be expected... the decoration of the Halls was awesome..... the cement ballast figures were interesting.... loved the colorful pagodas and guards... My tour guide was knowledgable and able to share with me quite a bit about the history of the capital and country. Good value for a half day tour. I combined this morning tour with the afternoon private tour of the Bangkok temples including the reclining buddha, and had a comprehensive, yet not overwhelming full day of sightseeing. The pickup site for the afternoon tour was at the Narai Hotel, so this morning tour guide dropped me off at that location. He recommended lunch at the hotel restaurant, Pepperoni. It was bit bit pricey for lunch in Bangkok, and the food was more western than hoped for. I'd recommend that the guide also suggest an alternative location for more traditional Thai food at a better value.

Andrea K, Nov 2017
The sight-seeing-tour was much too short for this beautiful and very large temple area. After a very long drive in the bus to collect all the sightseers, there was only half an hour ! left for the visit in the temple, which is much too short! Also the guide spoke an unintelligible English - very quickly with a terrible accent nearly everything with wrong accentuations, that it was hardly possible to understand him. According to the short time, there were also not many explanations about what we could see there. After this experience it seems better to go to the temple area by yourself, which is no problem, and stay as long as you want - maybe with a travel book.
I guess no one else wanted to do...
ShamrockSandy, Nov 2017
I guess no one else wanted to do this tour on the afternoon that I chose, because I had my own private tour with my guide Gift. She was very personable and did a great job of teaching me about the history of the Grand Palace and all its elements. She also was happy to take photos of me in front of the attractions. Thai architecture is so beautiful and this tour was a must-do. Getting around Bangkok can be a challenge with the traffic, so it was nice to leave the transportation to someone else. The tour as many other Bangkok tours concludes at the Gems Gallery where you learn about mining precious gems and crafting gemstone jewelry in Thailand. You are not required to buy anything, but make no mistake - this is a shopping tour stop.
