Overview

See both the popular and lesser-known sights of Bangkok on this half-day private tour. With a private guide, get a glimpse of daily life in Bangkok as you visit temples and a market, take a tuk-tuk ride, and listen to stories about the city. Starting time is flexible based on your preferences.
  • Half-day private Bangkok city tour
  • See both main attractions and hidden gems
  • Visit temples, including Wat Pho, known for its reclining Buddha
  • Take a tuk-tuk and enjoy a boat ride
  • Enjoy personalized attention from a private guide
Your tour starts by meeting your private guide at a location in Bangkok, which you get to know over the course of this experience that introduces you to the city's hidden gems.

Your first stop is a spot that provides a view of Wat Traimit before you head to the temple itself, home to a golden Buddha statue. Continue to the market in Chinatown, a food hub packed with stalls, eateries, shops, and Chinese temples.

Next up, cross the Memorial Bridge over the Chao Phraya River, and then take a break for lunch with your guide (own expense). After eating, head to Wat Pho, a Buddhist temple complex famous for its reclining Buddha. This temple is also known as the birthplace of Thai massage. Then hop on another mode of transport—a tuk-tuk—for a ride along busy streets to reach the Golden Mount (Wat Saket), a manmade hill topped with a gold stupa, where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Bangkok.

Finally, take a boat ride from Phan Pa Klong, enjoying scenes of local life along the canals; keep your eyes open for water monitor lizards, too. Your tour ends with a drink at a local spot chosen by your guide (own expense).

Private Educational Tour

Tuangtip is very knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible. She made the tour enjoyable and educational, with an in depth understanding of Bangkok's religions. We toured temples, the expansive Chinatown area, the flower and vegetable markets, and experienced both bus and boat transport. The private tour is a great way to interact with the guide for increased learning.

Great highlight tour with Tony. Be prepared for a lot of walking about 6 miles over 4 hours. Info tony presented added to the overall value and the different modes of local transport (bus, tuk tuk, canal taxi) were really nice. Tony kept providing water for us as we did a tour at 8:30 but an hour in already was warm. Great overview for first time visitor to the city. Then in the following days you can go and “fill in the blanks” of other sites to visit.

Met Artty at the station meeting point and set off on a great individual tour. I am a solo traveller but Artty's easy going attitude would suit any size tour. After chatting about what I wanted to see he took me to see sites I may not have thought about including the monks school, the streets of China town a bus journey and a temple well off the beaten track where we sat and spoke about Buddhism. The tour concluded with a tuk tuk and a canel boat trip.

Awesome isn't a good enough description of Tony's guidance, stories and insiders view of Bangkok! We walked alot, talked alot, shared mangos chunks with turtles to share good karma, saw some temples, in particular, Wat Po! We saw so much - flower market, China Town, along the river and other markets too. Fabulous day, Tony gets a 10 out of 10!

Our guide, Keikei, is cheerful, punctual, knowledgeable and very informative on Thai history, culture and religion. She took care of my parents very well and took great photos too. She adjusted the pace of walking tour to accomodate us and ensured that we have sufficient time for each destination. We had great fun in her guided walks, taking ferry, canal boat, bus and tuk tuk in this trip. Highly recommended this tour!
