What You Can Expect

Barbados Sightseeing Tour: Harrison's Cave, Gardens and St Nicholas Abbey

Harrison's Cave

Be ready for pickup at your hotel or the cruise port between 8am and 8:20am. In a shared tour vehicle, depart for your first stop: Harrison's Cave. Once there, board an electric tram and descend through the cave's serpentine tunnels, passing huge caverns, stalagmites, stalactites, natural pools, and waterfalls.

For the next stop, choose between the Flower Forest or Hunte's Gardens. All guests can choose either location, as they are located close together. Hunte's Garden offers a more formally-kept garden experience, and Flower Forest features a lush tropical vibe.

Next, make a brief photo stop in Bathsheba, a place of photo-worthy beauty and spectacular surf. Stop for lunch at a local spot featuring traditional Barbadian cuisine, then head for Cherry Tree Hill and St. Nicholas Abbey. Taste the award-winning rum at one of the last remaining 17th-century plantations in the West Indies before heading back to your hotel or the port for drop-off.

Great tour. Narin was an excellent host/guide.

This was a good thorough tour of attractions in the Island's interior -- an appropriate complement to the bus tour around the periphery that we took later on our trip. The guide was good and informative, and the best part is that we had him all to ourselves, since the other couple going on the tour apparently cancelled just before the trip. One thing to note about the attractions themselves: They are fine Barbados attractions, but they are not otherworldly spectacular. Harrison's cave is fine, but is no Carlsbad Caverns. Hunte's gardens is very attractive, but we've seen more extensive and more spectacular gardens before. St. Nicholas Abbey is interesting, notable in its own way among historical sights but we've seen other more impressive historical homes/homesteads. Not complaining, just saying that for experienced World travelers these won't be the most spectacular sights you'll ever see. They are what they are.
