Picasso Museum Experience in Barcelona: Skip-the-Line Museum Access and Walking Tour

Follow the footsteps of Picasso on a 2-hour Barcelona walking tour

Take an immersive walk through the life of Pablo Picasso during this Barcelona walking tour covering some of his regular hangout spots and his education as a painter. This unique opportunity to view Barcelona through the eyes of this famous artist will add a new layer of depth to your visit to this Catalan capital.
Start your walking tour by meeting your guide in central Barcelona at 3pm for the English-language tour, where you'll begin a walk through the life of the artist during his time here from 1895 to 1905. The rich creative climate that was prevalent in the city during Picasso's time played a critical role in the artist's development.
Follow your guide along the bohemian thoroughfares where Picasso once walked, stopping at El Quatre Gats, a well-known Barcelona café where the artist once socialized with the city's creative community. Pass by the Llotja Mar, an art school where Picasso once honed his craft, taking time to view the three friezes at the Frisos del Col-legi d'Arquitectes, which represent the artist's only open-air works.
Proceed to a variety of other key sites with significance to Picasso, pausing to investigate spots where he once painted and taking a leisurely stroll through the La Ribera quarter as you make your way to the Picasso Museum. This gallery, which contains one of the world's largest collections of the artist's work, is frequently plagued by long lines for entry. Thankfully, your tour allows you the opportunity to skip the line, so proceed inside to check out the museum's massive collection covering more than 4,000 Picasso works. During your exploration of the museum, gain added insight from your guide, who will help navigate you to the most important highlights, many of which were created during the artist's formative early years.
Finish your tour at the museum, which you can continue to explore at your leisure or depart when you're ready.

Excellent tour, Romina, our guide, was very knowledgeable and professional. Be prepared to walk for 2 hours, but you get to stop at various points to listen to the guide. I couldn't recommended more, this tour brings history to the beautiful streets of old Barcelona.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. She used a microphone and earpieces so everyone could hear her. We walked the Gothic district and ended up at the museum where she discussed the progression of Picasso's art and showed us the most important works in the museum. We all learned a lot.

Picasso's legend comes alive in this tour. Walking through the same narrow streets and cafes where he walked, spent his time in his initial days in Barcelona was truly amazing. Learning about his art, life and influences was a lesson in art history. Finally the museum is like an icing on the cake, just awesome and an art lovers paradise. These are few hours of bliss. Enjoy!

The guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour enjoyable. There was some confusion in the beginning trying to find the contact person that puts the tour together at the entrance of the church and there was a bit of a wait so we did not get it right at 9am. Overall I would still recommend it. The church is beautiful and worth seeing earlier rather than later on during the day.

The building it's housed in is worth the visit alone. Amazing.
Excellent chronologically arranged exhibit displaying Picasso's varied facets and periods and personal history, very interesting as well as the art works.

Our guide was the supremely knowledgeable and charming Noria!

This museum dedicated to Picasso focuses on his childhood work and his development as a uniquely gifted painter and sculptor. Many of Picasso's most famous works are found in other museums, but this exhibit gives one insight into his development and the influence of other artists, i.e., Velazquez.
