Picasso Museum Experience in Barcelona: Skip-the-Line Museum Access and Walking Tour

Follow the footsteps of Picasso on a 2-hour Barcelona walking tour

Take an immersive walk through the life of Pablo Picasso during this Barcelona walking tour covering some of his regular hangout spots and his education as a painter. This unique opportunity to view Barcelona through the eyes of this famous artist will add a new layer of depth to your visit to this Catalan capital.
Start your walking tour by meeting your guide in central Barcelona at 3pm for the English-language tour, where you'll begin a walk through the life of the artist during his time here from 1895 to 1905. The rich creative climate that was prevalent in the city during Picasso's time played a critical role in the artist's development.
Follow your guide along the bohemian thoroughfares where Picasso once walked, stopping at El Quatre Gats, a well-known Barcelona café where the artist once socialized with the city's creative community. Pass by the Llotja Mar, an art school where Picasso once honed his craft, taking time to view the three friezes at the Frisos del Col-legi d'Arquitectes, which represent the artist's only open-air works.
Proceed to a variety of other key sites with significance to Picasso, pausing to investigate spots where he once painted and taking a leisurely stroll through the La Ribera quarter as you make your way to the Picasso Museum. This gallery, which contains one of the world's largest collections of the artist's work, is frequently plagued by long lines for entry. Thankfully, your tour allows you the opportunity to skip the line, so proceed inside to check out the museum's massive collection covering more than 4,000 Picasso works. During your exploration of the museum, gain added insight from your guide, who will help navigate you to the most important highlights, many of which were created during the artist's formative early years.
Finish your tour at the museum, which you can continue to explore at your leisure or depart when you're ready.

Loved it! Highly recommended. Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything to us perfectly. I like going to museums with a guide because I can appreciate the art better when I know the story behind them. This was the perfect start/intro to our Barcelona trip.

We enjoyed this tour because our tour guide spoke perfect English and had an exceptional personality. Our group was not that large so she was able to answer questions. Be sure you are in good shape for this one because it moves very quickly and if you don't keep up it is bad for everyone because there is a lot to see in a short amount of time. We loved it. Very informative.

Good way to see this. This locale has special insights to the life and creativity of Picasso his early painting of an Aunt that gives us followers of this genius a nice addition to our portfolios of his life and work. The walking tour to the museum is a nice touch but be ready for it.

Im not a fan of Picassos late works but love his early work. It was interesting to see his progression from teenager to an adult. Our guide was well informed and enthusiastic.

Excellent tour which lasted about 3 hours. Half of the tour was outdoors visiting the neighborhoods that
Picasso frequented early in his career and later on as well. The second half of the tour was in the Picasso Museum and
organized in chronological order from the beginning of his career which began at a very early age. You follow the
progression of his career and our guide was very good at explaining the different influences which impacted his painting at
different stages. It was very worthwhile and I liked not wasting time trying to enter the museum on my own and touring
the museum with just a head set. I learned much more from this experience with a tour guide who has studied the artist.

You must do the walking tour with the guided tour of the museum. It gives you insights to the life of Picasso you would never see or know.
The tour of the museum was well paced, time to enjoy the highlights. Our tour guide, Jose, was perfect for this venue. He gave us the right amount of information in a manner that was fun. He was kind and highly professional.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and interesting not only about Picasso but about the history of the area along the walk as well as Picasso's history. I would not recommend this tour for people that have difficulty walking but for us it was fine. We met the guide after a bit of difficulty finding the meeting place. The instructions could have been a little clearer but once we arrived it was fine.
