We had arrived very late the night before but managed to get up to make this tour. Our guide was professional and so interesting. She showed us everything we wanted to see and had some very interesting insights to share with us. We felt like we actually saw the city this time. We had been here two years ago but tried to see the sights on a Hop-on-Hop-Off bus and it was a nightmare. Too crowded and you could not ask questions or get any in depth information. Really just drove around and saw the tops of trees.
Our guide Cielia was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and pleasant. She took us for a wonderful lunch and introduced us to some local foods and drink. Thank you so much for making our day perfect.
Paul Cannon, our guide gave us an amazing overview of Barcelona. His knowledge and kind manner was much appreciated. First, driving around the city to include the coast and beach area and then a walking tour were well planned. After a delicious lunch in a local restaurant we toured the Bascilica La Sagrada Familia. In spite of large crowds we were able to get right in and spend time in this amazing church. Thank you, Paul, for giving us our best day in Barcelona!
This private tour was worth every Euro we learned so much about Barcelona in a short time. Walking and driving perfect
Good tour guide, Marco. Worked out the details of the tour with us and put in all the time we wanted at the spots we wanted.
BEST way to see Barcelona! Our tour guide Cecilia was simply amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and catered to our requests. There's simply no way we could have covered all of the main attractions without her. Would really recommend on the first day of a trip, as we were able to see the highlights and know which places to return to. She drove us around the city, which was wonderful as we did not have to deal with parking or wear ourselves out from walking. PERFECT.
A thorough tour of Barcelona. Marco, our guide, was full of insights and historical vignettes not normally found in Fodor's. We covered a lot of ground during our six-hour tour, but we were able to savor the places we were particularly interested in. We had a lovely lunch at a delightful hole-in-the wall pintxos bar as well. While we enjoyed walking, Marco's well-appointed vehicle enabled us to efficiently get to all the major sights in and around Barcelona. If your stay in Barcelona is short, you should really take this tour. Marco will ensure you will want to return to this vibrant city!
WE LOVE MIQUEL AND BARCELONA! Miquel was an amazing guide, and he truly showed us as much as he could in 1 day! Barcelona was a stop on our cruise, and we asked to see as much as possible within a 8 hour time frame. Miquel did not disappoint! He explained everything in detail, and fully helped my husband and I to understand the history beyond the ruins. Miquel treated us like family, took us to a cafe in his own neighborhood that he frequently visits, and introduced us to delicious food at a restaurant outside of La Sagrada Familia. We had an amazing day, and would definitely come back to take another tour with Miquel!
Nutria our guide for the day was outstanding. She made us feel very welcome and made sure sh found the best vantage places for us to see the stunning gaudi architecture. I highly recommend Nuria .

Our guide picked us up at 9:00 AM with a nice, clean car. Interesting enough he was from Poland. However, he was quite knowledgable of Barcelona and its history and provided good service.
Our day was fully packed with seeing the highlights of Barcelona. Since we had only a short time in the city we needed to high spot some of the attractions that we would have seen in more depth if we had more time. However, we did get sufficient time to enjoy the Sagrada Familia and see the outside of some of Gaudi's most famous structures.
It was nice to have our own guide giving us flexibility on our tour. My wife had seen the Sagrada and was getting tired, so he was able to drop her off at the hotel while the rest of us proceeded with the tour. We were able to accomplish more of what we wanted to see with our own guide than with a group tour.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking to enjoy the highlights of Barcelona in a day.
Our guide Olga was amazing. She really goes above and beyond to make it enjoyable and is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the city, landmarks, and etc.
Karles was the ultimate tour guide. He was born and raised in Barcelona and this showed in his tour. He provided not only a stunning tour of the city, but also provided great insight into the life of being a resident. He showed us sights and history that we would not have discovered on our own. He showed us more in one day, than we expected because of his knowledge and flexibility. Than he took us to an excellent tapas restaurant and ordered specialties for us and then delivered us to La Sagrada Familia right on time. We thought that Karles became more of a friend than just a tour guide. He is proud of his city and it showed. Ask for him for your tour.
Anita met us at our hotel a few minutes ahead of the planned pickup time. She quickly understood that my wife has some walking limitations and set a pace to accommodate that. Got a VG overview of BCN. Need more time to visit in depth. Visit to sagrada familia was planned on time however the guide there was not good and kept the group outside in the cold wind too long and did not keep her microphone working much of the time. We left her and did better on our own inside.
Anita met us again on time and kept us engaged until almost dark. VG.
Our guide Vicente was absolutely the best. He was personable, very knowledgeable and professional. My wife and I were totally swept away by the city and our tour. The day was best ever of any of our foreign trips. Kudos to Vicente and his partner Joquain. They made our Christmas in the Mediterranean
Vicente was one of the best guides we have ever had!!! He was knowledgeable, personable and great company.
This is a comprehensive, full day tour of the city. Gloria was the perfect guide, fluent in English and very knowledgeable of the city. We only had one full day in Barcelona and having a private guide let us make great use of our time. The walking tour was our favorite part, taking us to landmarks and parts of the city we would never have found wandering on our own. The cut the line tickets to Familia are worth it and include an audio tour. My only advice is that if you are a party of 3, request a larger car as we were a little cramped in the back seat.
We enjoyed our tour in Barcelona a great deal. My wife had suffered a serious fall on our Mediterranean cruise, so she had missed over half of the sights she wanted to see. When we got back to Barcelona the tour guide and the driver were very accommodating so that she didn't have to walk too fast, or too far to see the things we had wanted to see in Barcelona. Our guide, Donatella, was very informative about what we were seeing and made sure we saw inside the Basillica Familia and the cathedral, as well as special sights along the way. Although the tour got off to a shaky start, we would certainly consider Viator for other tours again.
We booked this tour as a nice way to see Barcelona and to get some history on the sights as we were touring. On the day of the tour which was to start at 9am we got a call at 8:50am saying that our tour guide was under the weather and we would not be able to take the tour. They asked if we could reschedule for another day. As we were headed home the following day this was not going to work. I informed the gentleman who had called of this. He said he would see what he could do and call back. About an hour later we received a call saying that he had found another tour guide, but they wouldn't be available until 3pm. The guide ended up arriving at 3:30pm not at our hotel as advertised, but several blocks away from the hotel. We were then taken around to see some sights for 4 hours 2 of those spent at La Sagrada Familia without the guide, and definitely not the 8 as advertised.
Upon returning home I reached out to Viator with the details of the experience and what could be done, as this was not the 300 dollar experience that we had paid for. Viator has been extremely unresponsive in getting back to us with any further details. Overall I would never recommend using Viator to book a tour, let alone booking this experience in Barcelona. When you are on a vacation pick a tour/tour company that is going to give you an experience to remember, not one that is just going to be a nightmare.
The company that Viator uses for this tour is terrible in Barcelona. We paid over 300.00 for 2 of us to take this tour for one day when our cruise ship arrived in Barcelona. After booking the time was sent for the tour to begin at 9am. I wrote back and received confirmation that we needed to start at 9:30am since our ship was set to arrive in Port at 9am. They said they could not meet us at the Port and we would have to pay for a cab to take us to a hotel along the water front to meet our guide even though the tour was by car! First our ship had to wait for a Freighter to park and did not park and allow us off till 9:25am. We were the 2nd passengers off the ship and were surprised to see many vendors standing at the Port Terminal with signs for private tours. Of course ours was not there. We rushed to a cab and paid 12 euros to get to the hotel and arrived at 9:45am. There was no guide there for us. The front desk told us that a girl was there at 9am and left at 9:40am. Well if she would have been at the Port she would have seen when the ship came in. Since the tour was at 9:30am with written confirmation from the vendor she only waited 10 minutes for us which is terrible since we had a tour booked for 8 hours. The hotel kindly kept trying to call the vendor and finally got a person to answer the phone. They said they would find out where the women was and call back. We waited another 30 minutes with no word so the hotel once again called the vendor. The vendor said they were trying to find a guide and promised to call right back. They called back 10 minutes later and told the hotel to tell us that a guide would be there at noon for us! So now we forced to wait a few hours missing 2 1/2 hours of time in the Port. Finally at noon a guide Rudy showed up. He was totally unaware of our situation and told us that he was called on his day off to give us the tour. He had to get ready and go pick up a car and that is why he was not there till 12:30pm even later than the vendor told us. Rudy ended up being a good guide but kept asking us what we wanted to see. Good thing I researched the sites in Barcelona so I could tell him where to take us. He did not come into Sagrada Familia with us in which I would think having a private tour he would accompany us. I wanted to get out and see some of Park Guell but he told us it was too busy and there would be no parking for him and we needed to have gone there in the morning! Finally after 5 hours of him asking us what we wanted to see next we had him take us back to the ship since we had to pack our things and eat in order to leave the ship the following day. Since our tour was to be 8 hours we did not get 3 hours of the tour which was wasted in the morning.
We had 5 private excursions on this cruise and Barcelona was the worst! Viator really needs to use another company there. I feel we would have seen more and had a better explanation of things on a Hop on Hop off Bus!
