Make your way to the Palau de la Música Catalana for a 12pm show in the Concert Auditorium, a remarkable music space decorated with images of the muses, the natural world, and great composers.
The building was designed by modernist architect Lluís Domenech I Montaner for a Catalan choral society, and you’ll see rich detail and ornaments celebrating choral music throughout. The concert hall itself is illuminated by natural light during the day, and light filters in through an enormous stained-glass dome created by Antoni Rigalt. Sit down for a 1.5-hour performance by the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar, and enjoy the full effects of the hall as it fills with music.
Following the show, take some time to explore the concert hall’s elegant foyer, whose brick archways and glazed ceramic tiles frame remarkable stained glass windows.
