Beat the crowds with early access to the Royal Basilica of Montserrat, followed by a visit to Santa Cecilia Church and brunch. This 7-hour tour allows you skip the hassle of renting a car in Barcelona; travel in a luxury micro-bus. Brunch includes tapas and a wine tasting.
  • 7-hour tour to the Montserrat and Santa Cecilia de Montserrat, including brunch
  • Avoid the crowds as one of the first visitors to the Royal Basilica of Montserrat
  • Audio guide tour at Santa Cecilia de Montserrat
  • Tapas brunch including three wine pairings
  • Travel in an air-conditioned micro-bus
  • Pickup and drop-off in central Barcelona
Rise bright and early to meet your guide and group at the Julia Travel Office in central Barcelona 15 minutes prior to your 8am departure time.

Climb aboard your air-conditioned luxury micro-bus, and settle in to your seat. Watch the scenery out the window during the trip to the striking Montserrat, a 4,051-foot (1,236-meter) mountain formed by wind and rain erosion over the centuries.

Once you arrive, you'll be one of the first visitors to the Royal Basilica of Montserrat before most of the day's crowds arrive. See the 12th-century Black Madonna from a distance, as well as the shrine of the Virgin of Montserrat, Catalonia's patron saint. Take some free time to visit an audiovisual exhibit, as well as taste some of the area's typical liquors.

Your next stop is the monastery of Santa Cecelia de Montserrat, an ancient monastery with views of the Montserrat cliffs and the Pyrenees in the distance on clear days. Take an audio-guided visit of the Romanesque church, containing art by Irish painter Sean Scully.

After exploring the building, take a seat for brunch on the terrace, paired with three wine tastings. Return to Barcelona for drop-off at your original departure point.

Montserrat was fascinating. We would rather have spent more time in Montserrat than include Santa Cecilia Church. While interesting - and is where we ate lunch - it is minor in comparison to Montserrat. However, the food and wine we were served at Santa Cecilia was quite good.

Cecilia was a great tour guide and the trip was well worth it!

All the focus is on the Monastery at Montserrat, which was actually rebuilt in the 19th century. Santa Cecilia was built in the 10 century and it amazing to see the quality of the work that has stood the test of time, against the dramatic back drop of the highest peak at Montserrat. Definitely worth the visit. Brunch was great too...Very exclusive! Julia Travel is a very good company, Staff was very friendly, guide was very helpful... Good tour Viator! Thank you so much to recommend this!
