Tablao de Carmen is named after the 20th-century gypsy flamenco dancer, Carmen Amaya, one of the all-time greats of the art form. In 1929, she performed for Spain’s king, Alfonso XIII, to mark the opening of the Spanish Village, on the very same spot where the tablao now stands.
The show was absolutely mesmerizing! Itinerary suggestion: Spend the day at Poble Espanyol, then either conclude it with a dinner at a restaurant there followed by the flamenco show at Tablao de Carmen, or both dinner and flamenco show at Tablao de Carmen.
Exceptional Flamenco show with excellent talented performers. Signed up for the Tapas vs. Dinner show. Prior to actual dance performance, we 6 total were provided with a variety of tapas and both a jug of sangria and a bottle of good red wine sorry didn't note vintage. Sufficient food and drink so that after leaving the show, we didn't need to have more food or drink. Doors open exactly as advertised and it was lucky we got there ahead of time, as seating is first come first served. Tables and chairs are strategically placed so that it seems all get good views in spite of some taller folks in the front. Meal takes about an hour prior to show show lasts approx. 1 hour. For us, primary entertainers were 1 female 2 male Flamenco dancers plus two singers two guitarists and 3 additional support vocalists/percussionists. Lively and a great glimpse into another world. Highly recommended. Located in a Spanish village setting. Too bad we didn't research that part of the venue, as there were plenty of shops to visit and see. Would highly recommend getting to the Spanish Village portion a good 2 hours before. Theater is to the back of the Spanish Village and the sign posts are a bit hard to see and navigating to the theater.
We enjoyed dinner and a show. The dinner was much better than we expected. The show was awesome. We enjoyed the Spanish experience.
Excellent Flamenco! Great performers! If you choose the dinner, you'll have better seats. My wife and I didn't and got good viewing seats as well. Will definitely recommend!
A must see, artiste extra ordinaire. Bravo!!!!!
Lots of fun.
This venue is inside the Spanish village and includes the admission to get in there. It is a small, intimate venue with a good view from all seats.
The show is authentic Flamenco, with no hype. The dancers were all good.
We enjoyed the show and the tapas.
The Flamenco Show was outstanding!! It was authentic, a good representation of the culture. The Tappas and wine were great!
I would highly recommend this. The show was great and you get free drinks throughout. Did not try the food but it looked good from what other people got. Would definitely recommend as something to see in Barcelona. Be sure to get there early to get a good seat as there are limited tables.
Did not expect the tapas was so good. 7 different type plus red wine and sangria and desserts. We enjoy so much and the show was wonderful. Highly recommended.
