If you LOVE ham or are a foodie this is for you. The virtual tour of the farm and the process of the pigs life and subsequently ham, is amazing! and the Iberian Ham is very tasty.
Outstanding visual presentation on Iberian Ham and its importance to the Spanish culture and lifestyle. We included the ham tasting with our wonderful and knowledgable tour guide Ana. Highly advise anyone while in Barcelona and on the Ramblas to take this one hour experience to understand and appreciate Spanish culture even more!
If your at all any kind of foodie, this is a once in a lifetime MUST DO!! You start with the basics, film, visual aid walk through. Then you move onto the tasting. Five different varieties of Iberian Ham, an explaination of each and a couple glasses of Cava to go with. My son gave this to me as a Christmas, and it was perfect. Not to mention, you might even make some new friends while there.
Definitely a must do when you're in Barcelona. Very informative and the iberian ham is yummy! Right in the center of Las Ramblas and right across the Mercat. So there's a lot to see outside and around the museum.
What a FAB Visual and Audio Commentary, giving full insight as to how IBERIAN Ham is produced and why it is soooo expensive. The Tasting was GREAT washed down with some Quality RED WINE, Hubby and I give rthis tour 10/10 and would recommend to all.............. THANKU
This tour was interesting And very enjoyable. We were lucky as our group for very small, so were able to ask our Jamon carver lots of questions. We enjoyed the tasting so much we stoped In the shop at the end to purchase some to bring home!
Excellent experience with a very well constructed audio visual presentation followed by a wonderful Jason tasting. Great value for money. Highly recommend.
Bought the tour as an Easter present for my parents in law and they simply loved it!
I went to this ham experience invited by a friend and was surprised about how much I learnt. The didactive presentation was very interesting, which really helped to appreciate the ham tasting afterwards (which was yummy). A very nice affordable experience that doesn't require much time and teaches you about local gastronomy.
The museum is for sure worth a visit to learn all that goes into making Iberian Ham. The tasting is fun especially after just learning the various differences but could be skipped if seeking to keep the price down. The tour has interactive exhibits and is easily suitable for children.
There has been a lot of money but into this place, to show you about the process of creating the great Iberian Hams. However, the staff explanation was minimal and there was no explanation of the small dark audio visual tour that you found yourself experiencing. My audio guide stopped working and I could not find any help.
The tastings were great, just a brief explanation of the dark corridor tour before hand would of been appreciated.
Little instruction given prior to start of tour. Found myself trying to sit our group around a prop. We did not realize it was audiovisual. Lovely ham tasting, very informative. An orientation would be appreciated.
Fantastic Tour . Very informative Tour. It takes you through the history of how the best Jamon in Spain is made and the differences between the Jamon,s we eat. The shop upstairs from the tour , has a huge array of Jamones and wine that you can buy. Highly recommend the tour
The audio-visual presentation is very well set up and the provided information will clarify all the questions you have always had about this delicious meat. The tasting at the end is delicious! This tour is a must if you are an Iberian ham fan
I thought the tour was really enjoyable. The information before about the rearing of the pigs etc. was really interesting. Afterwards, at the tasting, our guide was lovely and she was very informative. We were given 2 drinks which was lovely and the ham itself was delicious. Definitely worth doing.
My only criticism would be that you don't actually get to see your ham being carved. To me that's one of the most impressive elements. You can see it being carved in preparation for other tours if your lucky but potentially having it carved for you when your seated would make it really special.
Well, I now know more about some of the world's greatest ham than I ever thought that I would. It was somewhat interesting, but self guided. The ham tasting at the end saved it. If you have a couple extra hours to kill, or you REALLY like ham, you might consider taking this tour.
The information was interesting but very impersonal experience. They cattle herd you through a movie about the Iberian process, then seat you at a table where they slap down a plate with 6 different hams. That's it. Disappointing.
