We were fortunate, as we went to Barcelona in the quiet season, so we were able to visit the Museum, Mary, and walk down into the valley. We sadly missed the Choir but that was due to us enjoying the yummy food in the Cafeteria. Lydia our Tour Guide was superb, she had a warm demeanour, fun outlook and her History knowledge outstanding. Lydia ensured our tour from start to finish was sublime, Thank you Lydia and Monserrat itself was stunning, views from miles around.
Very friendly office staff who spoke english very well. Tour guide was extremely knowledgable and friendly also with great english. Tour was amazing, Montserrat and Sagrada Familia are two places you must see when in Barcelona. So beautiful, so spectacular and so culturely important to the region. Skip the line ticket at the Sagrada Familia is the only way to do it. I can't recommend a visit to both these sites enough and if you are short on time this half day tour is the answer.
We had a wonderful time with our guide. Very knowledgeable of the area and the history. It was very windy at Montserrat the day we went so did not do any outside walking/hiking. The cathedral and museum were very nice. The skip-the-line tickets for La Segrada Familia were great as the line wrapped half way around the building. La Segrada Familia is a very interesting place and the architecture is awesome. Both are a must see when in Barcelona.
This trip was outstanding. The guide/driver, Anna, was excellent. Well worth the money.
We very much enjoyed our tour and Jordy was a great guide. We had ample time for the Sagrada Familia and Jordy gave us a lot of insight on the history. I was also very glad that we toured Casa Batllo on the previous day,one of the homes Gaudi designed. It made seeing his work on Sagrada Familia much more interesting. Montserrat was wonderful and beautiful. We were all glad we went. We ran out of time to go into the museum there and truly wish we had done that. We would have liked to ride the cable car down the mountain too so we would have liked a little more time there. We were so hungry by the time we arrived that we had to stop and grab a quick bite. My suggestion would be to pack a sandwich or snacks to eat on the way there in order to use your time wisely once you arrive.
This was a 'must see' for us, and we weren't disappointed in the least. Our guide was exceptional, and he really helped to make this a memorable experience.
Our tour and guide were outstanding. Anna, our guide, was knowledgeable, friendly, personable and flexible. Montserrat was the highlight of the tour and it was both inspirational and breathtaking. Absolutely worth the time and money.
Absolutely spectacular with the most personable informative guide. The early morning tour to Montserrat is definitely the way to go (no traffic problems, time to explore at leisure and catch the vernacular to the top of the mountain without waiting in line for extended periods). The young tour guide was superb, he had a sense of humour, excellent language skills and a wealth of knowledge; you couldn't ask for more. Then to experience the grandeur of Gaudi and the La Sagrada Familia without having to stand in line made the trip all that more enjoyable. Having experienced two weeks of coach touring with 'optional tours' and two weeks of ocean cruising with 'optional tours' this tour would easily be in my top pick. This was our last tour before heading home and there can be no dispute that we ended our holiday on a high by visiting Montserrat and Sagrada Familia. Well done and please consider paying the young guide more - he's an asset to your company.
Tour wa great and tour guide was great. She helped fill in the background information for both places and was knowledgeable about each as well. Plus she was pleasant and engaging for all of us on the tour.
Absolutely a really nice tour ! Our guide was very informative, knew her history and has lived in Barcelona for about ten years. Monteserrat and La Sagrada are a must see in our opinion while in Barcelona. One can only be in awe of Gaudis masterpiece. The inside is stunning and skipping the line is the way to go. Plenty of time to enjoy both on a half day tour. Montserrat setting is beautiful. Enjoyed our time at both !
Excellent guide. We had a detailed commentary on both sites, and plenty of free time to spend inside the Sagrada Familia by ourselves, and to do some shopping in the cathedral shop. Skip the Line was definitely the way to go - the queue for other visitors was very long - at least an hour to get in. At Monserrat we again had ample free time to take photos and do shopping etc. We visited late in the day so the queue for the black Madonna was very short. Our guide suggested that if we wanted to take the cable car that we do it on the way down, which we did, and the bus met us at the bottom. On the bus trip up the mountain we had a commentary on the monastery. The tour started at 12.30pm and we were dropped off at Christopher Columbus monument (close to cruise ships) at about 6.30pm. If you have limited time in Barcelona and want to do one or two sites well rather than a fleeting look at lots of sites, then this is a good option. The only negative comment would be that the bus was old and needed some mechanical work.
