Marco was a great tour guide and gave us good tips on how to make the most of our time in Monteserrat. He had a group of mixed ages and fitness levels and made sure we all were accommodated and we all had a wonderful time. Thanks, Marco!!
Marco was a great guide and took us around to the key sites and then described all the things we could do on our own. We had lots of time to explore galleries and/or take the funicular to the top, listen to the boy choir as well as visit the cheese market. It’s a lovely, peaceful and dramatic place. At the end Marco dropped us off at our favourite fish restaurant near the beach.
We booked a tour to Montserrat (family of 4) with our guide, Nuria. The beautiful drive up to the mountains was brought alive by Nuria’s storytelling abilities and her love and passion for Catalonia really shone through. The church and surrounding area was gorgeous despite the heavy winds and we were able to really get a feel for the monastery.
Montserrat was such a great tour, the mountain is spectacular with tremendous views and the monastery was very interesting. Loved the local vendors with their food offerings and being able to hear the boy's choir was icing on the cake! Karles was our guide and was the very best, we were SO lucky to have him.
Our tour was wonderful. We had a very knowledgeable guide that made sure we saw all of the interesting sites. She also provided the history of the area which put things in context. We highly recommended this tour. The sites and church were amazing.
We reached the top early on a blue sky day. The Pyrenees could be seen with snow-capped peaks and those are the border with France. We could also see down to Barcelona and the Mediterranean. We were off-peak yet was crowded. Everything seemed to require close to an hour minimum spent in a queue. Food choices are not robust nor inspiring. Be warned depending on makes a good time.
