Great trip -- the guide, Feliciano, was really nice and knowledgeable. He took us to some very nice spots and also offered a lot of commentary about life in Barcelona more generally.
This tour was fantastic! Our tour guide Ana was a bundle of energy. She made sure we had plenty of time in each of the villages and stopped many times on the road for us to get pictures of the view up the mountain. It was a wonderful way to spend the day and a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Excellent tour. Away from the crowds. Not rushed. We all had a great day.
Anna, our guide was an absolute joy. We had a small, mini van group of 5 and it was a very personal experience. We went to three villages and a delightful mountain top cliff view amongst cows. We had plenty of free time to explore each village with a special Lunch (at our own expense). This trip was amazing and a delightful way to explore countryside Spain. My only complaint is that These trips are rather expensive when you have to buy your own lunch in places with very limited choice thereby hiked prices. Despite this, do not miss this tour of fully functioning 1000 year old medieval villages.
This tour was awesome! Our tour guide, Ama, was friendly and knowledgable. First stop was Besalu where we had time to walk around on our own as well as with the tour. We bought some delicious croissants and pastries while there. Second was Rupit where we had lunch. We were there on Christmas eve day so we were the only ones walking the town which was erie, but fun. Rupit is beautiful. We had an excellent lunch there as a group since only one restaurant was open due to the holiday. Ama took us off the path to an area with an incredible view where we walked around and took pictures. A third village led us to the Grand Canyon views of Spain. Simply breathtaking. A great day trip not to be missed, especially if you like old stuff.
One of the highlight of our stay in Barcelona. Great guide and the small group experience felt like we were hanging out with friends. Highly recommended.
The medieval villages were very interesting and Ana our tour guide was personable, a lot of fun and she was knowledgeable on the subject area.
Our tour to the 3 medieval villages was excellent. Anna, our tour guide was knowledgeable and very easy going. Our favorite stop was Rupit, very small but very charming village. It was a long day, but well worth it to see what's happening outside the City. I would recommend you take this trip not the day after Christmas as we did. Many shops and restaurants are still closed in the villages. However, this did not take away from the beauty of the scenery. Really loved it.
This was an incredible tour to Besalu and two other medieval villages with some of the most spectacular scenery that we have seen anywhere. It was a wonderful opportunity to get out of Barcelona and experience the way people have been living for centuries. Feliciano, our guide, was one of the best guides that we have ever had in any country. He was extremely knowledgeable, to the point where he was able to focus the tour on our special interests, and a delight to be with. Feliciano even gave us a bit of a Barcelona sightseeing tour as we doive out of and back into the city.
I highly recommend the medieval villages tour as one of the best Viator Barcelona based tours. Request Feliciano if you schedule the tour.
Great day tour from Barcelona, quiet interesting villages to see and scenic drive as well.
This was a wonderful trip with a fantastic guide!! The villages were amazing! It was like we stepped back in time. Because we went near the end of the tourist season, it was not crowded (which was great!). I would highly recommend this trip to everyone. We had a small group that got to know each other quickly. We all ended up eating at the same place, and on our Thanksgiving Day. That made it quite special, too.
This tour was amazing. Our guide was wonderful, he knew the history and wonderful things to see in each town we visited. It was excellent ...
Tour was cancelled due to tour guide having an accident, but we were able to join another tour and throughly enjoyed it, the tour company was very helpful
Three very different old towns to explore. Besalu is approached by way of a lovely medieval bridge. There was once a flourishing Jewish community in the town, but they were always blamed for any misfortune, including the Black Plague, and were eventually forced to convert or flee. In the former Jewwish quarter we saw a medieval Jewish mikveh or ritual bath, which was discovered during excavations last century. We had lunch at Rupit, with a wide choice of restaurants serving traditional Catalan food. It was an interesting tour with a very informative guide.
