Small-Group Mediterranean Sea Sailing Trip from Barcelona

Small-Group Mediterranean Sea Sailing Trip from Barcelona

Set sail for a day of relaxation, adventure and fun during this 2-hour, small-group Mediterranean sailing excursion from Barcelona. Cruise the gorgeous coast near this Catalan capital aboard a 40-foot (12m) yacht, learning some sailing skills or just relaxing in the sun during your ride.

Meet your boat at the Port Vell Marina in Barcelona. Choose your departure time from among a range of options, which will depend on the time of year for your cruise. Listen to a short safety briefing from your skipper, along with an introduction to sailing, then cast off for a fun-filled day on the water.

Skirt the coast of Barcelona, enjoying fantastic views of the city’s one-of-a-kind skyline that blends both medieval and modern structures. You’ll be able to spot the city’s famous La Sagrada Familia cathedral, as well as the Port Olympic, Montjuïc hill, Barcelona Cathedral and Barceloneta Beach.

During your ride, you’ll also have the chance to test your sailing skills. Join your skipper to hoist the sails, take the helm (steer) and trim the main. Or just kick back and relax, taking a seat on deck to sunbathe or grabbing a spot in the comfortable cockpit or down below in the ship’s salon.

As you leave the coast behind, navigate out into the open waters of the Mediterranean for more cruising. Feel the warm kiss of the sun and gentle caress of the breeze on your skin, admiring the glow of the light as it shines on the ship’s hull. Assuming the weather is calm enough, you’ll also have the rare chance to enjoy a swim in the open ocean.

If you start feeling hungry or thirsty, savor a glass of chilled cava (sparkling wine), beer or a soft drink, accompanied by almonds and fresh olives as you return towards Barcelona Port (weather permitting). For those on boat trips leaving at 2:30, 4 or 5:45pm you’ll also get to enjoy fantastic vistas of the Barcelona skyline at sunset as you enjoy your snacks. If the weather is bad on the day of your sail, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a drink and snacks at a local bar when you return to port.

Please note: the sailing itinerary is subject to change depending on wind conditions.

Great trip, super relaxing, and Captain Robert was informative and entertaining. Well worth it to get out of the city for a few hours and recharge in the beautiful sea air.

Fabulous, fabulous experience!! Since we were the only people booked on this day, we were able to sail the boat ourselves. The young Captain was fun and very accommodating. The view of Barcelona and the calm of the beautiful sea were a wonderful experience! Very memorable, highly recommended.

Awesome! So much fun and laid back. Both our guides were amazing and we had a great time. Included beer, but we brought some of our own wine and sandwiches! Boat has a restroom and small inside area as well. Loved every bit of it and Barcelona is AMAZINGLY Beautiful!

Small group, I'd say: It was just my hushand, our daughter and myself! We booked this last minute. The weather was gorgeous, the wind was friendly and Captain Francisco was very knowledgeable, not only about sailing but also the history of Barcelona. We actually sailed sails up, motor off! A lovely way to spend one last day of summer weather in September! Thumbs up!
