What You Can Expect

Wine and Cava Tour from Barcelona with Tastings and Brunch

Llopart winery

Depart from a centrally located pickup point in Barcelona, and board a luxury, air-conditioned coach destined for Torres wine's cellar an established winery that boasts a beautiful location in the heart of the Penedès wine region.

On arrival, venture within and learn about the life of Torres, an influential winemaker who brought foreign grape varieties to Spain. Descend into the cellars to taste a variety of wine produced at the winery, and gain fascinating insight into the cultivation of grapes in vineyards.

After this authentic journey into the wine world, you will go to one of the most prestigious "boutique" cellars of cava, Llopart. During the tour you will have the opportunity to explore the private country house the Llopart family inherited by Bernardus Leopardy in the XIV Century. Over the centuries, the small cellar in the house basement was converted into the place where, in 1887, the first bottle of Llopart cava was produced. In this charming old winery you will experience a trip to the past with the tasting of our most emblematic and exclusive cava, incuding an Original Gran Reserva 1887.

Your experience continues with a visit to one of Spain's oldest vineyards, La vinya de Paulino, whcih has vines that are more than 75 years old. See where all products of Llopart´s range of cavas are produced. Once you get to the ExVite tasting room, you will have the chance to enjoy two more tastings of different kinds of cava. With the cava some finger-food items of local products will also be served, including bread topped with tomatoes, cold meats and cheese.

Your tour ends with a drop-off in central Barcelona at the original pickup location.

Loved this tour, great wine and tapas. Tour guides at both places (wine and cava) were very knowledgeable and learned a lot. The atmosphere and scenery were so relaxing and beautiful, great day trip away from the city.

Lots of fun on this wine tasting tour. We were in a group of eight fun people from the USA, Australia, and New Zealand. The Codorniu Cava tour was a favorite. A great way to spend a very hot day in June in Catalonia.

Love this tour. This was our 3rd time taking this particular trip. Since we can not buy Jean Leon wine in the US, this is a special treat. Love tasting the grapes right off the vine.

I can not rave enough about this tour. We were lucky to be only four people in the brand new and very nice Mercedes small bus that took us on a very private tour to three different places. Jean Leon was a new experience to us, but what an amazing story and when we got back we ordered two cases based on our great the tour was. Torres is a big factory, but they make the most out of it and the lunch tapas was delicious. Ending at Codorniu and the bubbly they served was really nice. The three different guides at the wineries were all excellent with great knowledge of their products and english A. I have recommended this tour to lots of friends and I might take it again when we are in Barcelona next time.

This tour was simply perfect! Well worth the money to be in small group. Being 10 in a big bus, there is no time wasting, and we are travelling very comfortably. We have plenty of time in each wineries, and we are still back in Barcelona to enjoy the night. The guide Ana was very friendly. Everything was perfect, this day was the highlight of my trip.

This trip was one of the highlights of my week in Barcelona. Got an amazing sense of the Spanish culture without spending hours in a museum. I learned so much about each winery and about wine itself. All of the settings were beautiful and the wines delicious. Great length and way to spend the day, and still arrive back in Barcelona early enough in the evening to enjoy a great dinner.
