Overview

Be the first to step inside La Sagrada Familia just before the crowds arrive on this 2.5-hour tour in Barcelona. This tour allows you inside the unfinished church 10 minutes before it is open to the general public. Learn from your guide about the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. Stroll among the columns as large as trees, admire the lavish decoration, and view the colorful stained glass windows that make this structure a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upgrade to include access to the tower for views over Barcelona.
  • Early access gets you unobstructed views of the exterior and interior
  • A trip up to the Tower of Passion can be added as an upgrade; a perk not available with general admission
  • After the 1-hour tour, you can stay and admire the cathedral and grounds as long as you want

Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Three perks in one: skip the lines and beat the main crowds into the Sagrada, and opt to visit a tower.
Make your way to La Sagrada Familia, one of Barcelona's best-known landmarks, to meet your guide and tour group. Get there just before 9am, when the popular site is open to the general public. Avoid long lines and be one of the first groups allowed inside.

Before entry, marvel at the ornate exterior of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring sharp, soaring spires and incredible architectural detail.

Follow your guide inside for a tour of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí's masterwork. Look up for dizzying views of 230-foot (70-meter) vaults, colorful stained glass windows and soaring ceilings. Walk down the five aisles in the shape of a Latin cross while listening to your guide's commentary about Gaudí's architectural philosophy and inspiration. Learn about the reason for the church's unfinished state; construction begun in 1882 and was only a quarter complete when it halted in 1926.

Opt to upgrade your experience with exclusive, 30-minute access to the Tower on the Passion façade, where you will have a panoramic views of the city from a height of 215 feet (65 meters). Please note that access to the tower requires a climb of roughly 400 steps.

Following your tour, you are free to explore the site further on your own.

Getting in early is important for this popular attraction. Also, the guide, Jordi, was incredibly knowledgeable and well organized. Jordi's passion for Gaudi was evident and contagious. The cathedral is like no other, but it is important to get a quality guide to explain the many symbols. The quality tour guide and the early access is what made this tour different from the many others available.

I went with my elderly mother to avoid the crowds. It was amazing and informative. After the guided tour you have free time to wonder,by the time we left at 11:30am it was packed.

Great tour.. was glad your started at 9am before large tour groups came. Had excellent guide who really explained Gaudis vision. Take Passion Tower access..see entire city of Barcelona. This is a must see landmark!! Make reservations via Viator BEFORE you go to church.

The meeting place was easy to find and very convenient. Our guide was on time and was really nice, he certainly knew his stuff and kept us engrossed in the facts and details regarding this wonderful building. When you walk in, the view just takes your breath away. A magnificent sight and you couldn’t help but feel sorry that Gaudí never got to see it in all it’s glory.....even if it is still not completely finished. A fair few years away yet.....maybe 2026. When our tour was finished our guide gave us some local sightseeing advice and took us to the entrance of the towers and made sure we entered ok. The view from above was amazing and we got some great photos. I would say the climb down the stairs was a little harrowing so if you are not too steady on stairs then I would give this a miss. All in all a very worthwhile trip and it was made better by the early entry as it soon fills up when open. We would definitely recommend this trip

It was raining, so didn't really get enough time outside. Skip the Line allowed for us to beat the crowds. We we're disappointed in that we were not allowed to ascend the Passion tower, but were told we would get a refund. The museum is a must see. Don't forget to visit the shop next to the museum. We were fortunate enough to be in the church when the Angelus was prayed and a soloist sang the Ave Maria. This occurred at noon.

We had a wonderful early access tour of Sagrada Familia with ooh la la, Mama Mia tour guide - knowledgeable and very entertaining. This was my third time in the Cathedral and I learn something new every time! Aida I believe was her name....

The tour was great. I thought I was getting tower access however I learned I did not have that included so the title of the attraction was a bit misleading. Over all I was fascinating to see the progress since my last visit in 2007.

Having visited La Sagrada Familia before, I knew what to expect. My tour was a bit slow, repetitive, and dry. There's nothing on the tour you can't read in the museum at the cathedral or read online in advance. Also, I'll be honest - I'm a little bitter about this tour because we weren't able to go up to the towers. They were closed due to "inclement weather." We did get refunded promptly from Viator (which is one of the many reasons I love booking tours here), but still. The towers can be closed for any reason at any time.

While our guide was great and knowledgeable do not think that early access means there were be fewer people there. The place was packed! That being said the Sagrada Familia is a wonderful sight to see.
