During the course of your experience you'll sample some of the area's top wines and cava, along with a selection of cheese and tapas, as you learn about the vineyards' production processes and history.

Catalonia is known as one of the country's most celebrated wine regions, boasting 11 different appellations, more than 2,000 years of wine-making history and annual production in excess of 380 million bottles. The region's output also includes cava, a sparkling wine that accounts for around 50% of the total.

Depart from central Barcelona at 8:30am, heading first to Bodegues Jean Leon, a winery located in the center of Spain's Penedès region, for a tour of the facilities and a tasting of two of the group's award-winning wines. Head next to Bodegues Torres, where you'll have a chance to further immerse yourself in the unique wine-making process. You'll also enjoy a tasting of three more wines, accompanied by local Catalonian cheeses. Finish your excursion at Caves Freixenet, where you'll spend some time learning about, and tasting, cava. Discover the process behind cava production and then sample two cavas plus some mouth-watering tapas.
Throughout your day's excursion, your guide will also be available to answer questions and share entertaining tidbits that provide further context and history about this unique wine-making region. Return back to your departure point at the conclusion of the day's activity.

This was a very nice and informative tour to the 3 different wineries from the small batch winery to the large scale production at Freixenet. It was a larger group tour than we expected 20 but the bus ride from Barcelona was very comfortable and we never felt the group was too big. The tour guide and the winery guides were knowledgeable and the food pairings at Torress and Freixnet were excellent and well proportioned. We were there during the harvesting Sept so it was an added bonus to walk through the vines grown for tastings and sample the various grapes. The tour bus pickup / drop off point is very close to the Plaza Catalunya square in Barcelona.

This was an excellent tour with 14 English speaking people and 2 non-English speaking people which caused the guide to spend an unexpected amount of time with the 2 non-English speaking tourists. The tour was advertised as English speaking, so we were disappointed at all the dead time waiting for 2 people to catch up with the rest of the group. The guide also seemed confused that these two people were assigned to the group, as he told us he did not expect nor does he normally conduct bi-lingual tours. Other than the lag time, this was a very good tour and we felt it beat expectations based on our entry level knowledge of the wine region. The wineries selected for this trip were excellent choices which presented a great overview of the region and wine making styles.

What a fun day. I enjoyed drinking as well as learning about all of the wines that we experienced. All 3 wineries had their own unique experiences for the group. We were both pleased by the environmental consciousness that is practiced by the businesses. I am a bit more discriminating b/c of what I learned when buying wines since my experience.

The vineyards were great to see. Torres was fantastic. The way they set up the wine tasting was spectacular. I have ordered their wines now a couple of times.
