Once you have completed the first tour of your Adelaide Super Saver, you have six more days to complete the second.

Day 1: Adelaide city tour (3 hours)

Discover the highlights of Adelaide, the ‘festival city,’ on a sightseeing tour by coach that takes in the city’s mix of historical buildings and modern architecture. With a guide, visit the North Terrace, see statues and memorials, and take a walk through Rundle Mall. Visit Colonel Light’s Lookout, named for Adelaide’s founder and town planner, and then drive out to the coastal town of Glenelg and admire the beach. You’ll also satisfy your sweet tooth with tastings of dark and milk chocolate at Haigh’s Chocolates, served with a cup of coffee or tea.

City tour optional upgrades:

When booking, you have the option to upgrade your city tour to include a River Torrens cruise and admission to the Adelaide Zoo to see the beloved giant pandas.

River cruise: Board the Popeye, a ferry service that dates back to 1935, for a 40-minute cruise that provides views of city center landmarks from the water. Keep your eyes peeled for a variety of ducks and other birdlife, as well.

River cruise and Adelaide Zoo admission: If you select this option, disembark the riverboat near the zoo, and explore its variety of animals, from giraffes to flamingos, before viewing the main attraction, the zoo’s two giant pandas, Funi and Wang Wang. During your time in their state-of-the-art exhibit, learn about these pandas, the only ones in the southern hemisphere and the first to live in Australia permanently, as well as the pandas that live in the forests of China.

Day 2: Barossa Valley and Hahndorf Tour (8 hours)

Your second tour must be taken within seven days of the Adelaide city tour. You’ll depart the city for the Barossa Valley, one of Australia’s most renowned wine regions. Admire the verdant scenery of the Adelaide Hills, and enjoy morning tea in Lyndoch, the gateway to the Barossa Valley. Then visit two wineries for wine tastings, and enjoy lunch at Keaslers Winery Restaurant.

Next, head to the quaint town of Hahndorf, a historical German settlement. Walk around town to enjoy the Bavarian-style atmosphere, and perhaps relax over a cup of coffee and streusel (own expense) before your day trip ends with the drive back to Adelaide.

Stay Away!

Completed city tour on 24/8/19 and Barossa Valley tour on 26/8/19. City tour did not include trip to Glenelg, despite being indicated on website. Barossa Valley tour did not include morning tea, again despite indicating this on website. Informed Viator of the above, both Viator and Gray Line denied the above. Not trustworthy businesses.

Great introduction to Adelaide

The overall experience was pretty good. We did the city tour first which gave you a great insight into Adelaide's history. The River cruise was a waste of time. The zoo was not bad. The next day we did the Barossa valley. Our day was wet and cold but overall great. The lunch was nice, the winery's were good. Wish we had more time in Hahndorf. Great way to spend two days in Adelaide

The offer of this combination tour was excellent. Everything went according to plan, and pickups were well organised and went smoothly. Martin the driver and host on the Barossa Valley tour was fantastic. He was friendly, funny and very knowledgable.....a great guy. The included lunch was excellent, very well presented and a very sociable part of the day. Unfortunately, the wind and rain at Hahndorf was unpleasant but it's a lovely quaint town with fortunately plenty of coffee shops and warm places to go into. The art galleries were really interesting......would love to go in the summer. The sightseeing tour was also very worthwhile with another very knowledgeable and friendly guide.

The river cruise was a waste of time and money. The guide was only doing it because it was a job. No enthusiasm at all. the rest was not too bad.

Adelaide City Sightseeing Tour was a waste of time. We drove round the city one could have taken the city free bus as the commentary was routine and boring and had one stop at St Peters. The church was beautiful so worth a visit. We did not visit Colonel Lights Lookout nor did we drove out to the coastal town of Glenelg - both were on Viator's itinerary but not on the Adelaide Sightseeing Day Tours brochure on the bus. Visit to Haighs Chocolates was just for people to buy chocolates. Two stars for Adelaide City Sightseeing Tour. The full day Barossa Valley and Hahndorf tour was good, especially with a good driver/guide in Matin which did make a lot of difference. Lunch was also enjoyable. Pity the rain came down on us at Hahndorf. This tour is worth 4 stars and one of the best tours available in Adelaide. It is OK if you do the two together with a discount but DO NOT pay 66 just for the city sightseeing.
