What To Expect

Book your preferred tour option, and meet your guide in central Bath. Then, set off to explore on foot, learning about the UNESCO-listed city and its architecture on route.

Founded by the Romans as a thermal spa and littered with classical treasures, Bath flourished in the 18th century with the development of its honey-stoned, Georgian architecture.

Admire Pulteney Bridge and Gothic Bath Abbey, the coronation site of England’s first king in 973, and then continue to Bath’s showpiece: the Roman Baths.

Pay the entrance fee (depending on option selected) and tour the stunning, column-lined Great Bath and changing rooms, hot pools, and other facilities, all once used for relaxation and socializing by ancient Romans.

See the hot springs, and view the main artifacts in the museum collections, including the famous Minerva’s Head and inscribed stone tablets.

Next, delve into the historical town center to admire its Georgian architecture. See the Pump Rooms and Upper Assembly Rooms, and walk to the world-famous Royal Crescent. Drink in the sumptuous sweep of this 18th-century terrace, and admire the Circus, a circular-shaped terrace formed from curving segments.

After learning about these architectural masterpieces, your tour finishes in the city center.

Tour guide not very knowledgeable
pokey0404, Jun 2022
Our tour guide was very friendly but not very knowledgeable. Would have preferred someone with a lot more knowledge of the history of the city
Guide was very difficult to hear and spoke far to quickly.
Peter_C, Jun 2022
The guide needs to do the baths tour to learn how the water rises and why the Romans left. Viator are not veting their tours like previously

Bath tour
Sejal_M, Jun 2022
I’m not sure if it was the structure of the tour itself or the tour guide but really didn’t learn much on the tour. I thought the tour guide was very sweet but I left the experience not really feeling like it was a good use of time. I also hear that the city of Bath gives free tours.
Highly recommend

Ellen was fantastic! She is a real storyteller and shared interesting facts along the way peppered with humour. Highly recommend
No good

I just buy tickets from your company but was mistake because when I buy tickets your page was change date and I was there in Bath last Sunday and your tickets was for Wednesday 2pm so I ask you about refund but you don’t want to pay me back so I’m totally not happy with your company. I’m working really hard and paying you £80 for nothing. This money means to me a lot so definitely can’t give you good point for this. So people be carful when you buy tickets because this company give you Sing conditions where is no REFUND.
Joy of Bath

Our Tourguide was Ellen. What a delight to experience her joy in telling the story of Bath. We were well entertained and learned a lot. Thank you Ellen
Great tour, thanks Ellen!

Ellen led an outstanding tour! The weather was not on our side and she was an absolute trooper and kept us laughing. Rich history and beautiful sights !
Good, but awkward ending.
Shannon_S, May 2022
The travel guide (Rachel) was great, and it was her first official tour. You could tell the company trains its people well; Rachel did a fantastic job. She was knowledgeable about the city and various landmarks, and was willing to answer any questions. My only issue with the tour itself was how it ended: the last official stop on the tour was the Royal Crescent. When done there, we were told the tour was over and she would lead us back to the starting mark for those of us who also purchased tickets to the Roman Baths (definitely recommend adding - it was fabulous!) as the entrance was right next to our starting location. While our guide was still friendly and willing to carry on a conversation, there was no more tidbits or interesting buildings pointed out along the way, it felt like we were just a big group tromping through the city together. I don't fault Rachel for this, but think the tour could be rearranged, or maybe something added so it doesn't feel so awkward (i.e. "hey this is the end, but let's still walk together for another 10 minutes while I escort you back to the rendezvous point). Overall, a great tour of city and enjoyed learning more about Bath that I doubt I could have learned on my own.
Must do Bath experience
GRANT_E, May 2022
Had a great time on this tour, so many unknown facts and interesting stories about Bath. Rachel from Footprint Tours was awesome, very knowledgeable, putting passion and fun into the tour that certainly made it memorable.

So glad we took the plung and visited Bath!
Janet, Apr 2022
My husband and I were so glad that we booked this tour. Our guide was very informative about the area as we walked around town. We were guided through areas that we would have normally just walked past without knowing. After exploring with our small group our guide returned us to our meeting point in order to tour the actual Roman baths on our own with the use of a free audio guide. Lots of places to eat in town after your finished touring. Such a cool historical area that shouldn't be missed!

Ask for Ally!
Justin_B, Apr 2022
Fantastic tour! Ally was a brilliant tour guide! Pointed out the finer nuances and details of the historical town.
Memorable visit
Catherine_H, Apr 2022
Very informative and told with some amusing anecdotes. It is a very beautiful town and very disappointing that the lovely old hospital lies empty when so many of the residents of old contributed so generously to the build.
Friendly, energetic tour

Ellen our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and full of energy. She happily answered our questions about Bridgerton and Jane Austin. Very personable!
