Explore the highlights of Beijing during a full-day tour that includes the Forbidden City, Beijing Zoo, and Summer Palace. Learn about the imperial family, observe giant pandas, take a boat to the Summer Palace, and participate in a tea ceremony on an 8-hour tour led by an informative guide. Includes lunch, entrance fees, and all transportation.
After morning pickup at your hotel, head to the Forbidden City (Imperial Palace Museum), which is located on the north side of Tiananmen Square.
Explore the massive complex that contains four palatial halls, and thousands of Chinese antiques and treasures. After touring the palace with your guide, stop at a cloisonné enamelware factory before sitting down for a traditional Chinese lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the giant pandas that reside at the Beijing Zoo. Watch the black and white bears at play and at rest, then continue by boat to the Summer Palace.
The Summer Palace covers a total of almost two miles and is considered one of China's most impressive imperial gardens. The Empress Dowager Cixi controlled China for almost five decades between 1861 and 1908, and she oversaw the expansion of the royal gardens, which include a huge lake with a marble boat.
Learn more about China’s tea culture during a traditional tea ceremony, then travel back to your hotel where your tour ends in the late afternoon.
