This group tour was on a medium sized bus. Going to the Great Wall is an absolute mist do. It was worth the ride over and back. We stopped at a jade place as well. Wonderful experience. The included lunch was very good. The 65 per person cost was a very good value for sure.
Our tour guide was awesome! She knew a lot about the history of Beijing as well as the Great Wall itself. She even went out of her way to take us to an authentic tea house after the tour was over. I highly recommend this trip to anyone.
The guide William was great took pictures for us as we walked!
Everything was awesome including lunch...
Just an FYI for Viator in description put additional costs for team or ski car which are options when get to wall
It was very nice that the tour picked me up from my hotel even though it was located just outside the 4th ring next to Peking University. Pickup time was 6:30-7:30 am. Our small tour group 5 people arrived at the Wall by 9 am, which gave us 2.5 hours to explore. It was very nice having so much time to walk around, and the toboggan ride is highly recommended! I thought lunch was fine nice to have the price included, and as a bonus we got to see a tea ceremony at Dr. Tea once we returned to the city. Final drop off time was 3 pm. I thought Maria was very kind and informative. She even gave us travel tips for Beijing outside of the tour and was full of knowledge.

A must do tour while in Beijing!! Michael our guide was so nice and provided us with some great side activities plus the Great Wall. That feeling you get to be in one of the wonders of the world is unique. Loved the Great Wall!!
Awesome Tour!! We had a really nice and informative tour Guide, William! He called us at our hotel to confirm our pick-up time to start the day! Making our way towards The Great Wall he shared information, history and hot spots! We had our first stop over at the Jade Factory which was pretty awesome to see how they carved and made jade pieces! We had our Lunch at a nice restaurant before making our trek to the wall! We chose to go up by chairlift and then toboggan ride down great fun! There are a lot of steps from small to big to steep etc. so be prepared! we were given a good 2.5 hours on the wall and found it was plenty of time, walking the wall, resting, getting our breaths back, taking lots of selfies and then lining up at the end for the toboggan ride down! The tour ended with a tea ceremony and hotel drop off ! Overall it was a great tour, great tour guide and beautiful views!
This was a fabulous experience. Maria our tour guide was wonderful, informative and really took good care of us. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Great way to see the Great Wall of China.
The best tour I have been on! Jackie our tour guide was amazing, so engaging. The Wall was obviously the best thing on our trip. Could have used some more time on the Wall itself and we were picked up a little too early to pick up other people from hotels. Could have multiple pick up points.
Overall absolutely fantastic! This one was a highlight on our trip.
A great day on this tour. Our guide William was fantastic, we learnt so much from him. There were only 6 on our tour, we went up by chairlift and then opted for the toboggan ride down, before enjoying a lovely lunch. Be prepared for a lot of steps varying in height, I personally found it quite difficult but glad I persevered. Our guide was considerate in the fact when he saw one of us struggling he'd suggest this was a great place for a photo opportunity. Well worth it.
This is a must-see for anyone traveling near Beijing. And, this is a far better place to see the wall from, as opposed to the closer in and very crowded option. Be prepared for the hike up- this is NOT for anyone who is unable to endure a vigorous climb. The steps are challenging in height at many points, but you can always stop to rest and continue on at your own pace. The views are spectacular.
Everything was great except the lunch. The food was like something you could get at a mediocre Chinese restaurant in the US.
Great tour and plenty of time to walk on the wall. Mutianyu is a great section of the wall to go to as it is not crowded. Lunch was great and also enjoyed the tea ceremony.
Gail was an amazing guide, so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and a budding photographer it seems! The tour itself was super fun, and exploring the wall while learning of its history made it more interesting. Tobogganing down from the top of the wall was a great way to cap off the experience.

Excellent day! Jackie Li was very informative and has a great sense of humour. I recommend him to would-be travellers.
This was the experience of a lifetime. Our guide was most informative and entertaining and everything went according to schedule. We were picked up and delivered to our hotel as per advertised. The tour was GREAT.
The tour was great despite traffic to and from Mutianyu. But even better was the tour guide. Very flexible. Very funny. Very knowledgeable. And kept up with us the whole way we opted to walk up to the Wall rather than take the cable car. His name was Gau sp? although pronounced in American English as Goo and he really made the trip.
We highly recommend this tour. Seven people were on the tour. We were picked up at our hotels in a very comfortable van with an excellent driver. Mark was our guide, and he was very pleasant, upbeat, and capable. We drove to Mutianyu stopping at a jade factory on the way, which took about 2 1/2 hours interesting scenery. The only extra cost in the day was an optional one that was well worth it - 100 Yuan to take the cable car ski lift up to the Great Wall and then toboggan down or we could have taken the cable car down, but tobogganing was much more fun. On a different tour I took the next week, I heard that the Great Wall cable car was out of service one day, and I'm so glad it wasn't the day we were there. Hiking to the Great Wall in the heat would have left us with little time and energy to be on the Wall. As it was, our tour guide gave us about 90 minutes on our own to take the cable car, hike along the wall, and then meet at the bottom. Hiking along the wall - steep steps and all - was an unforgettable experience. After that, we walked a short distance to a nice restaurant where our food was all ready and was delicious. We had a room for the seven of us. We drove back to Beijing and stopped at a tea business before being dropped back off at our hotel. Be prepared for slow traffic everywhere. This was an excellent tour.
Amazing tour! Lots of walking and it was chilly at the Wall however, everything was great. The guide was fab, he gave a lot of details. If you are unable to walk a ton of stairs this might not be the tour for you. Wear sneakers and bring water because you will get a great workout. Take the tour that provides the toboggan down, it was so much fun! Well worth the extra money.
The jade factory had a lot of expensive choices but you could find some reasonable items if you asked without fear of sounding cheap. me
Lunch was traditional and tasty. We were the only ones in the restaurant so the food was fresh and hot. The tea house was informative but be prepared to spend top dollar for the products.
A magical day!! William, our tour guide was an excellent ambassador for Beijing and The Great Wall. His friendliness along with his vast knowledge made our day one to remember. We can definitely recommend the Mutianyu section of the wall as it was not over crowded. The cable car up and taboggan down was an excellent way to start and finish the adventure. We cannot speak highly enough of this experience.
Fantastic! My pickup information was well communicated to me before hand and I was picked up from my hotel on time. The guide knew perfect English and explained the facts beautifully. Lunch was yummy. This section of wall had less tourist, so I enjoyed the walking and climbing. I used the cable car to go up and tobogganing to come down. Tobogganing was fun! The tea house experience was also good. You can buy some good quality Chinese tea from there. You wouldn't regret if you book this tour. A must do if you're in Beijing for work or tour.
Great tour, but you need to tip the guide and driver......I didn't know that and it made for an awkward farewell.....
Very good tour. Tour guide William Kuang was very friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the history of the Great Wall and Beijing/China in general. Was lucky to have a small tour group, so able to interact with William extensively. It felt like a group of friends rather than a group tour. Trips to jade factory and tea tasting were good, though I spent too much unplanned money but made for good gifts. Thank you for making this a great experience!
