Kevin was on time and picked us up in a nice new van - very comfortable drive. Very safe driver!!!! Kevin dropped us off, got us checked in and got our lift tickets. Wonderful day and wonderful views of the Great Wall. Wonderful experience - highly recommend!!!!! Kevin met us at Subway and took us back to hotel. Thanks Kevin for great experience!!!
Our trip was great! The driver picked us up at the hotel and drove us directly to the wall. This part of the wall is the best, not overly crowded, in fact very few people early in the morning.
Car was on time
Driver had limited English but was friendly and helpful
Mutianyu was beautiful
Every thing went so smoothly, I think we would have enjoyed a little more history, but the experience was phenomenal.
Our driver Kevin was great- on time, safe driving, and helpful with suggestions. Highly recommended for an easy trip to the Great Wall!
I highly recommend this tour to anyone that is not only looking to fulfill what, for most of us in the USA, is a once in a lifetime experience of walking on The Great Wall of China, but also have the fun and excitement of taking a ski lift up and a toboggan ride down. The views from the ski lift and the wall are magnificent! The toboggan ride sooooo fun! The private car with English speaking driver made the day relaxing and stress free. Our driver, Kevin, met us in our hotel lobby at 8:00 a.m. We proceeded to the car. Kevin gave us some history of China as well as hints on maneuvering and shopping during our stay in Beijing. When we got to the wall, he escorted us to the entrance. After we were done on the wall, we met Kevin back at a pre-designated area. On the way back to Beijing, Kevin offered to take us to any other site we may have wanted to see in Beijing. Due to jet lag, we declined. Seeing the Great Wall of China via ski lift and toboggan is the only way to go! Going through Viator who made the visit so easy is, in my opinion, also the only way to go
The driver, Kevin, suggested to leave very early in the morning. He picked me up from the hotel at 6:45, as promised on the phone. We picked up 2 other tourists on the way, but I wasn't bothered by that at all. I had to wake up before 6 a.m., which was a bit difficult, but this turned out to be a great idea, as there were very few people on the wall when we got there. When we left, it started to get crowded, so I really appreciated the fact that I could enjoy it at my own pace without bumping into people all the time. Also, I had the afternoon free afterwards. I would have liked to get some information from him history of the wall/area, interesting facts, but there wasn't much time and I am not sure how he could have done that, if he was focused on driving. I was happy with this tour and I recommend it to everyone, as Kevin delivered what we agreed on and seems like a reliable and helpful guy.

A really worth while tour lots of information provided on the journey to the wall and back. Plenty of time on the wall where we went for a really long walk along the wall. Views were amazing. Good lunch at the end of our walk. A truly great day out.
Great trip, we didn't want to do all day group tour, this trip was well affordable. Driver Bruce got us there nice and early before the national holiday crowds kicked in. Mutianyu has a great stretch of renovated wall - note there is one company that runs an older chairlift up and optional toboggan or chairlift again down the toboggan was great fun and very safe a different company runs a modern cable car.
Kevin was a great guide and very helpful throughout the entire tour. I would highly recommend Viator and Kevin!
This portion of The Wall is fantastic! I would highly recommend anyone to this site for a tour and this portion of The Wall. Our driver was very prompt picking us up from the hotel and was very helpful. The tour guide met us at the wall and bought our tickets ahead of time which was helpful. You don't need a guide to climb the wall with you, but it is helpful to have them coordinate tickets and transportation.
We booked a 1 day Mutianyu Great Wall tour for our holiday to Beijing through Viator and overall, it turned out very well. We had Kevin Konglin as our driver for the day and he was very informative and helpful with our questions and he arrived on time 7:30am. He also helped us with recommendations of what attractions to check out in Beijing and Shanghai and was very knowledgeable too. The Mutianyu Great wall section is not as busy as Badaling Great wall Section but still was amazing to see.
He also took us to the Jade factory, which was great and also helped us get some very good seats for the Beijing Acrobatics show and got us to all these places in good time, considering there is heavy traffic in Beijing.
I highly recommend this Mutianyu Great wall trip to anyone who wants to experience The Great Wall of China and does not need a tour guide to walk them around the great wall tour. Thanks Kevin for a memorable day in Beijing.
Note: When going to the Mutianyu Great wall of China, that there are no tissues in the toilets so bring your own pack of tissues. Also be aware that you may have to pay for a single ticket to take the cable car, unless you ask for a return ticket for the cable car. As for lunch options, there is a dumpling place nearby the great wall that sells 10 dumplings for 30 CNY roughly 3.00 and there is a Burger King around the cable car entrance point.
The trip itself was OK. I booked it very late. The response from Viator was delayed. Once I got to Beijing, the night before the trip, I was told that nobody else had signed up so I needed to pay another 70 double the original price to go by myself. That didn't seem unreasonable under the circumstances.
However, when the driver showed up the next morning, right on time, she did not speak English AT ALL. We drove for 1 1/2 hours in silence and eventually met her husband who did speak English at the Wall. He made the arrangements for the visit and took me to where I could get on the lift to the wall itself. All of that was fine, except that I was interested in finding out some thing about the places that we drove through on the way and was unable to do so because Mrs. Tour Guide couldn't understand anything I was saying even basic things like what is the name of this place?. So that was kind of disappointing.
