Your dedicated guide and tour vehicle will arrive to collect you at your Beijing hotel around 8:30 a.m. Make your way to the western part of Beijing while watching the scenery and leaving the driving to the experts.
Set in the forested mountains west of the city, the Temple of Ordination (Jietai Temple), is your first stop. The temple is surrounded by tall red walls, features a marble ordination altar decorated with elaborate carvings, and offers views over the city. Walk through the temple's courtyards, home to twisted pine and cypress trees.
Take a break for a vegetarian lunch inside of the temple after your morning tour, then head to the Tanzhe Temple.
Follow your guide to tour the largest and oldest temple in the Beijing area, decorated in typical Ming and Qing architecture. The large complex also features extensive gardens and bamboo stands. Take a break with a cup of tea (black, green,or flower tea) with snacks, overlooking the scenery, the temple, and the locals coming to pray.
Return to your hotel for drop-off at the end of your tour.
