Spend the day exploring Beijing’s main monuments on a full-day tour of the Forbidden City (Imperial Palace), Summer Palace (Yiheyuan), and the Temple of Heaven (Tuan tan). Travel with ease between the dispersed monuments, without worrying about getting lost or using public transport. Unlike other tours, this experience is limited to a small group of 15, to ensure you receive personalized attention from your guide.
I booked the tour for a particular Saturday but the guide arrived an hour earlier than the time I was told and simply left without a call. The contact at the operator was very helpful and arranged for a replacement the next week.
The tour itself was a disappointment. The tour guide Angel only gave us minimal introduction at each of the sights and basically told us to go and have a look yourselves whilst she played with and chatted on her phone. Her English was only so-so and a lot of the times she was bordering on being rude.
We had very short time at each of the sights and were rushed by the guide who just wanted us to move on.
We were also dropped at three factory shopping stops: one for jade, one for silk ware and one for tea shop. Only the last one was listed on the info page. There was a lot of pressure to buy. Each stop was 30-45 minutes, the same time we spent at each of the sights.
Added to all these, I was told by two other who joined the tour that they paid half the price I had paid. The quality of this tour was poor and felt like a cheap join-in bus tour instead. It did not live up to other small group tours I had booked through this site which have all been excellent to datee.
