Byblos, Jeita Grotto and Harissa Day Trip from Beirut

Jeita Grotto

Meet your friendly, expert guide in central Beirut and kick off your Byblos, Jeita Grotto and Harissa day trip in the comfort of a luxury coach. Travel about 12 miles (20 km) by private, air-conditioned minivan to Jeita. Follow your guide on a boat ride on a subterranean lake where you’ll get an up close look at the Jeita Grotto, an incredible ancient cavern that was a finalist for the New7Wonders of Nature in 2011. Explore the lower caverns on a subterranean boat with your guide, and then check out the upper caverns on foot.

From Jeita you’ll make your way to Byblos—one of the oldest cities on earth. Home to more than 24 successive civilizations, this 7,000-year-old city is among the top archeological areas in the nation. Follow your guide through some of the highlights, including the Byblos Castle, as you explore this ancient destination. Make a stop at the medieval Roman port, which ranks tops among the city’s tourist spots.

Enjoy a traditional Lebanese lunch (included) before making your way to Harissa, where you’ll get an up close look at the Statue of the Virgin Mary—including the chapel and spiral staircase—and have the opportunity to look out over impressive views of the Bay of Jounieh. Your guide will explain how these religious sites are a destination for pilgrims from across the globe. Capture as many photos as you can at this religious destination before you settle back in to the comfort of your private vehicle for the return trip to your Beirut hotel, where this incredible tour ends.

So incredible. Had lunch sea side, beautiful and big lunch. Jeitta grotto was amazing, no photos allowed so lasting memories for a lifetime were perfect. Harrissa was my everything. Stunning. The views were amazing. Took a lift over the sky to the statue, just beautiful. Didn't want to leave it, magical. My favorite tour day. This day is a must as well as Baalbek.

This was a such a wonderful trip! I couldn't recommend it more highly. The caves at Jeita are magnificent, Byblos is a little jewel and the views from Harissa were breathtaking. Georgette if I remember her name correctly was an extremely friendly and informative and multi-lingual guide too!

The tour which was carried out by Nakhal, one of Lebanons largest tourism companies was absolutely worth it. We were a small group of people and our tourguide was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. I would have wished for some more guided tourtime in Jbeil, especially the parts of the very picturesque town around the archaeological sites. Our driver even made a small adjustment to drop me off closer to my home, transport worked perfectly, we had airconditioning and the van was comfortable. Would definitely recommend this as a nice day trip to explore the history of the country and to see what Lebanon has to offer outside of Beirut!

This is one of the most wanted trips Nakhal has to offer. A lot of people going there...
Jeitta grotto is the most wonderful cave you will ever see. Unfortunately, you will not be allowed to take pictures. Part of the tour is on foot, the other part is on water with boats.
Byblos or Jbail in arabic is also very impressing. You can see the old castle, the amphitheater, the remains of the old houses.
You can reach Harissa either by cable car or by bus. The agency offers you both options. Usually, everyone goes there by cable car. On the top, you will see the statue of Virgin Mary.
Personally, i regret they don't include Tripoli anymore... There were people that went by public bus and they said it is beautiful.
