What You Can Expect

Meet your guide, a fellow Game of Thrones fan and expert, in central Belfast to begin your comprehensive Game of Thrones filming locations tour. First, follow your guide to Belfast’s famous Titanic Quarter, named after the notorious ‘unsinkable ship’ that was built in the dockyards.

Next, jump aboard your tour bus and set off for the first destination – Carrickfergus Castle. Follow in the footsteps of William the Conqueror as you explore the history fortress, then continue to Carnlough harbor, which was on Season 6 recently.

Journey along the scenic Antrim Coast Road and stop to visit the Cushendun Caves, where one of the most memorable scenes took place - Melisandre of Asshai giving birth to her ‘shadow baby’. Then, arrive at the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, an historic rope bridge that passes 100ft (30m) over the Atlantic Ocean and connects the coastal cliffs of Northern Ireland to Carrick-a-Rede Island. Hear how scenes from Season 6 were filmed on the bridge and if you want, opt to walk the bridge (extra fees apply).

Continue to Larrybane, where Brienne of Tarth beat Ser Loras of the flowers and was given a place in Renly’s Kingsguard as her reward, before paying a visit to Northern Ireland’s only UNESCO World Heritage site – the Giant’s Causeway. Spend time taking photos of the dramatic basalt columns and hear the fascinating legends of giants from your guide.

There are still two unforgettable locations left to visit so climb back in the van and head to Dunlace Castle, better known as the House of Greyjoy. Finally, drive along the eerie Dark Hedges, where Ayra Stark made her escape from King’s Landing back in Season 1, before returning to Belfast.

Melanie was absolutely amazing, she was very enthusiastic about all things G.O.T. She is obviously an avid fan and was full of information and knowledge. This tour is absolutely fantastic and we even got to see two of the Game of Throne doors as well as getting to dress up and have a sword fight on the Dark Hedges.

Viator and Irish Tours are the best ! We had an amazing time. The tour has a lot of spots to see, so, some of them has a very quickly stop, but, it is totally worth it anyway. The guide is a GOT extra, so he provided a lot of inside infos. We loved !!!

This was an amazing tour. The guide Sharleen was hilarious, entertaining and very knowledgeable. She had fun facts and an ipad filled with scene of the places we were going to. She also had a quiz for the GOT fans and had us pick a character we wanted to be for the quiz. I would definitely use this company again.
