A definite stop in Belfast. With very experienced and knowledgeable guides, you discover so many aspects of the life in jail and how people were treated from beginning to end. Highly recommended for the whole family.

We booked with Viator 3rd party agent and was cheaper p/p than booking direct with Crumlin Road Gaol website!!!!! Also with Viator, you dont have to commit to confirmed tour time's!!!!!! If you book with website direct, they want to confirm time slots.

Requested late afternoon 3.30 Or 4pm tour. We arrived early aprox 2.45pm was booked onto the next tour time 3.30pm

Fantastic experiance and not to be missed, so glad we had the time to visit.

First class in every respect. The guide was very personable, patient and informative. The Gaol had been restored in part allowing the features to be seen without destroying the historic atmosphere. All finished off with coffee and a snack in the on site cafe.
Thoroughly recommended

The tour was well done. The prison is quite interesting. Worth doing given the role of Crumlin Road in the history of Ireland. The Cuffs Bar in the basement was actually a highlight!

Booked on line but the system failed us. However a simple phone call corrected the on line glitch.
The gaol has a phenomenal history of who where when and what happened over it's existence. This place is much more than a place where recent conflict prisoners were sent.
The complex has had a very varied history.

Our guide was fairly young but established a good repertoire between himself and our group.

It is shame that the courthouse on the opposite side of the road has not been restored and incorporated with the tour. All we saw was the underground tunnel connecting the buildings. We appreciated that it's acquisition very difficult after it's initial sale to a developer for 1 who now refuses to sell even for Millions of pounds!

The tour is worth taking. However, we have been to Shrewsbury gaol and the presentation and atmosphere was much better than the CRUM.
