Traveler Tips

You need to wear a bathing suit or some clothes you don't mind getting wet.
The only thing I would say is don't wear typical water shoes.

Great experience!
ccarole2, Feb 2023
Great guide who helped through the water and in areas that had some white water! enjoyed the beauty of the place.
Bummer
Dottie_A, Jan 2023
We were not able to make the kayaking experience because we could not even get off the ship in time. The tender takes a long time to get full and it's a long trip to port. If you try to go, make sure your ship can get you there in plenty of time. Very disappointing.
Response from Host, Feb 2023
Sorry to hear you missed your tour, everyone else checked in early and waited then enjoyed there tour. just a reminder for others that want to enjoy this amazing tour, get a tender ticket and come ashore, see you soon. arriving 3 hours later will not work.
Great experience!

Abner and Abner where excellent guides and the trip through the caves were amazing! Definitly choose the kayaking option.
Great Adventure
Larry_S, Jan 2023
A fun- filled adventure! Abner and Abner were great guides, full of information on Belize- the culture, the fauna, the food, and the demographics. They did an outstanding job of guiding and assisting our group through the jungle and kayaking through the caves! Definitely a great adventure and a great value. You should definitely bring cushioned water shoes for walking in the rocks. And swimsuits- you will definitely get wet!
An Otherworldly Experience

Swimming in the cave was the highlight. I am recommending this tour to a friend who plans to travel to Belize
Great guide. Great...

Great guide. Great customer service. Had a blast walking the forest and kayaking the cave. .........,..............
Almost perfect experience but would highly recommend
Nancy_T, Jan 2023
I love to kayak and these cave systems are wonderful to explore. I did the tubing which is fun but being tied together and limited cave exploring for me I prefer the kayaking. The hike in isn’t far but expect some ups and downs and water can get chest deep with currents in the three streams you have to navigate walking. This was not mentioned in the description so beware and come prepared. Lunch is an option for $10 usd rice and beans only. For the price and experience I would do it again. You should have kayaking experience to enjoy this they recommend River kayaking experience because of currents and being pulled into the cave walls at times.
Once in lifetime
Natalya_K, Jan 2023
This trip was a once in a lifetime experience! I was nervous booking an excursion not through my cruise line, but this was super easy and fun! Finding the guide was super easy as they were right outside the port with signs. The ride was interesting as one of our guides Nelson was fun. We opted to buy the lunch for the way back which was $10 US dollar and was super delicious. The walk through the jungle was easy as there was a path and the rivers to cross were not bad, highest level being to my waist. The caves were beautiful and the water was crystal clear. On the way back to the ports there was an accident on the highway and our guides immediately called the port to inform them we would be late so the boats waited. 12/10 experience. We did kayaking as it took you to a few more caves than the tubing.
Excellent cave kayaking tour.
Philip_B, Jan 2023
Marco and Abner were excellent guides. Marco was very knowledgeable about the jungle flora and an attentive guide as we kayaked through the caves. He arranged for a lunch. We highly recommend this excursion..
Great excursion!
Rachel_H, Jan 2023
This excursion was excellent! Our tenders were behind schedule and we were late for our time slot but the company was very accommodating. There were only three people on our tour and our guide Marco was super friendly, informative, and fun. I’m not a strong swimmer but it wasn’t a problem. We stopped at a tasty place for lunch on the way back which was $10. The jungle walk was rocky & crossed a couple streams - I would recommend thick water shoes/Chacos.
Awesome! Last minute switch to tubes due to weather.
Arlene_B, Jan 2023
The caves were indescribably beautiful! We had two adults (50 & 77) and two teens (13 & 17) and everyone had an amazing time! They switched us to tubes due to strong currents but that was probably a better idea for our family anyway. The van ride out to the caves is longer than I expected but our guide answered all 400 of my mom's questions about Belize on the way. It was rainy and overcast that day but it didn't matter at all. We ordered lunch at a restaurant on the way expecting it would be ready by the time we got back but there was a long wait to be served. One family on our tour did not order food and seemed a little frustrated about having to wait for the rest of us. Wear water shoes or old sneakers. You need to wade through the river at one point on the hike to the caves. The current was strong and my daughter almost lost her crocs. We saw someone walking back who did lose a shoe.
Caves were flooded
Lucy_P, Dec 2022
Our tour was canceled due to caves being flooded, which was very disappointing. We did get a proper refund. So still will recommend the tour agency.

ok thanks
Amazing experience!
Jacob_W, Dec 2022
This excursion was amazing and my favorite out of my whole 7 day cruise. Abner and Marco were genuinely excited to have us. On the drive to the cave, Marco gave us extensive background on the country of Belize. When we arrived, the whole experience was very well organized. Abner gave us clear instructions and were were able to kayak through easily. The caves are beautiful and interesting to navigate. You can order lunch on the way in to eat on the way back. It was ten dollars U.S. and tasted delicious. Marco even stopped down the road at a grocery store so we could buy some local hot sauce that we sampled from the restaurant. On the way home, the team took a slightly different route through Belize city so we could see the reality of living in Belize. Couple tips: Ignore the scheduled times on the reservation. Take the very first tender off your ship and find the V.i.V. group. We were an hour late leaving because one couple got confused on local time vs Belize time. Wear a water shoe or preferably Tevas or Chakos with a strap. You can rent or buy crocs at the cave shop. There is a 20 minute hike at the beginning which is not steep but you have to cross a couple rivers and the currents can be strong.

Must do
Jeffrey_K, Dec 2022
Great tour guides, the caves were beautiful and the animals we saw were cool. Beautiful setting, peaceful, quiet.
Abner X2 made it an amazing day.
Lyndon_L, Nov 2022
Our guides Abner #1 & Abner #2 were outstanding. Definitely want to do the kayak rather than the tubing because you get more time on the water and you get to go thru 2 more caves. Been to Belize multiple times and this excursion was the best by far.
Just do it!! Amazing experience!
Jessica_C, Nov 2022
This excursion was amazing! Our guides, Abner, Abner and Marco were fabulous and made our experience so memorable! The drive was long but the bus had a/c and our guides gave us a great, informative tour. The traditional belizian food (small extra cost) was delicious and worth it! We think we lucked out with our guides because they stopped along the jungle pathway to give us tidbits and interesting facts about the lush forest. Bring water shoes and an extra change of clothes, you will get wet! Well worth the money for an experience of a lifetime!
Abner was great - we...
karen_s, Nov 2022
Abner was great - we really enjoyed our experience, he even rescued a baby turtle from the middle of the road.
Beyond our expectations!
Angela_B, Nov 2022
This experience was just breathtaking!! Tubing through the caverns and the rainforest was an experience of a lifetime! How our guide, Jimmy, swam the whole time guiding our tubes is beyond me. That man could be an Olympic athlete! He was kind and informative and really made sure we had a great experience. Please bring money for tipping, these folks deserve it!
Don’t miss this tour!!
Dean_K, Sep 2022
We had an amazing adventure! Our guide was Lupé. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about his home place of Belize, he was also entertaining and helpful. On the van ride down, we were informed about different things about the country. He was able to answer every question we had. During our excursion he helped our 80 year old grandma cross the river, get into the tube, and cross difficult parts of the trail. He was very attentive and accommodating. This excursion was the highlight of our 7 day trip! We highly recommend this to anyone who is up for a wonderful adventure!
UnBelizeable great fun.
Donald_W, Aug 2022
The large number of bats and going in and out of multiple caves, from cave to lush jungle. Even the walk to the river was great with the guide telling us about the native plants.
