What You Can Expect

Belize Cave Tubing and Altun Ha Combination Tour

Belize Cave Tubing - Nochech Che'en

Meet your guide bright and early at your hotel or port in Belize City, and learn the basics of Mayan history as you make the 50-minute drive to Altun Ha. Find out why the ancient Maya chose this site to found a city, part of a powerful network of trading and military partners that spread across the region long before the arrival of Europeans. Climb to the top of Altun Ha’s highest pyramid for stunning views of the jungle surrounding the archeological site. Hear about the modern-day Maya and how the ancient cities were lost — then found — in the jungle.

Continue to Nohoch Che'en Archaeological Park to discover a limestone landscape of turquoise rivers and cool, shaded caves. The hike to the cave entry is the perfect time to learn about local plants and animals, and why the ancient Maya believed that caves were the entrance to the watery underworld, Xibalba. Launch your inner tube into the river, and enjoy the serenity of the slow moving water—you'll visit two caves within the archeological park before returning to your Belize City accommodations.

I booked this tour about three months prior to visiting Belize through Viator. As specified on the voucher, it said the start time was 7am with pickup 30-60 minutes prior. 7am came and I hadn't heard anything from the tour. I tried calling their local number and no one answered. I called Viator directly and they couldn't find them either. After spending 30 minutes on the phone, I just knew I had a wasted trip to Belize as I didn't have any further information on the tour. After working with the hotel to possibly arrange me a private tour and going to the ATM did someone contact me

It appears there was poor communication as my guide wasn't aware of the tour until that morning.

My guide was amazing!!! I would recommend Adrian to anyone as he really knows his history and Belize's environment. He also makes it entertaining along the way with plenty of laughs. Despite the mishaps in the beginning, the trip was well worth it! Request Adrian if you can!
