What To Expect

The magnificent Charlottenburg Palace is one of the most famous sites in Berlin, a former summer residence for the House of Hohenzollern, a dynasty of former princes, electors, kings and emperors. Today, the palace and grounds are a major visitor’s attraction.

This evening of classical music and fine dining at the palace begins with a self-guided tour of the New Wing, featuring the opulent rococo state apartments of Frederick the Great and the more modest winter chambers of Friedrich Wilhelm II. An informative audio guide is included for assistance.

Then it’s time to enjoy a 3-course, candlelight dinner in the magnificent Orangery, a sophisticated ballroom that combines the luxury of centuries past with all the amenities of modern life — perfect for receptions and dinners. Taste a seasonal selection of exquisite dishes with a vegetarian option, if desired. One example would be potato-ginger soup with lemon oil and thinly sliced rosemary ham; filet of Brandenburg pork in puff pastry served with a ragout of apples, savoy cabbage and mushrooms with a peppered cherry sauce; and a chocolate tart a la Sophie Charlotte with gold-sprinkled crème and spiced pears.

After dinner, proceed to the auditorium for a concert with the Berlin Residence Orchestra. Choose from four ticket categories: VIP, A, B and C — referring to the front-to-back seating in the concert venue. VIP guests enjoy preferred seating for the concert with a glass of champagne during intermission. The orchestra is comprised of renowned musicians from Berlin, with a particular understanding and love for music of the late baroque and classical era. The program includes selections by famous composers like Bach, Handel, Mozart and more.

It’s a bit of a walk from the museum area of the palace to the far end where dinner is served.

A nice divertimento

Depending on how much time will be spent in Berlin, this evening is a "possible." For a 3-day visit, not on the list. For 4 or more, I think it's worthwhile. Dinner was adequate and the concert was the fun part. Performers were in period costume, the music was great, and the master of ceremonies, also in period costume, was entertaining. But be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to tour the palace. They are serious about closing entry at 4:30 PM and you should organize your day accordingly.

Dear Mr./Mrs., thank you so much for your review. This feedback is very important for us. Thank you and all the best, The team of the Berliner Residenz Konzerte

Berlin Charlottenburg Palace Tour with Dinner and Concert
Lea_M, Jul 2019
Overall, we had a great experience! The hosts were very friendly and the food was good, except a limited vegetarian meal choice. The only other complaint was the lack of air conditioning in the pre-show dinning hall and in the concert hall. Spending about 3 hours during a mid-summer heat wave detracted from the overall experience!
Dinner and concert

It was a lovely evening at the palace. The food and service was excellent and the musicians were extremely talented. the printed directions were not correct, so we got lost and it took us too much time to correct the mistake, Viator should do more research and correct the train stop. This was not an easy place to locate
Museum and concert only!
Catherine C, Jun 2019
The museum and concert were both worthwhile. The food was mediocre, they ran out of ice, Chardonnay, brought the wrong drink order. No coffee. Terrible service and overcharged for our drinks. Ultimate tourist trap.
Lovely evening
Christine_P, May 2019
We purchased the museum entry, dinner and concert at the palace in May 2019. Two hours exploring the museum is ample. So arriving by 3:30 or 4 is good. The museum closes at 6. It’s a bit of a walk from the museum area of the palace to the far end where dinner is served. Dinner was delicious. After dinner we were asked to follow along as we would walk outside to the opposite end of the palace for the concert. The concert hall is stunning and the musicians were so talented. The concert was very enjoyable. (Most people wore business casual clothes and the ladies in heels were struggling to walk the gravel path.)

This was a great evening and concert. Everything was well organised and the food was very good. The price for drinks was reasonable. The concert was extremely enjoyable and the opera singers and musicians were fantastic. It was a great experience and one to be recommended. Getting a taxi at the end was very simple, walk to the road and there they are.

Excellent experience at the Palace! The only criticsm is the main dish of the dinner. Tough Beef! the Potato Soup was good and the Apple Strudel was delicious. Music was wonderful and satisfying. Well worth the VIP ticket price.

An amazing day at the Charlottenburg Palace. The tour started with an audio guide around the Palace and we had time to wander around the massive Gardens before Dinner. Dinner was of a very high standard, with very helpful Staff dressed in early 18th Century costumes. The additional drink prices were reasonable. The evening concert was a very enjoyable experience, with a mixture of Opera and Classical Music, making it ideal for those wanting to get a taster of this type of music. Throughout the day, the process of collecting tickets to the concert was made very easy by the pre-booking by the Viator Staff and the very friendly Staff at the Palace. Thank you for a great experience and we will be doing it again, when we next visit Berlin.

Lovely evening. The tour, dinner and concert were above expectations--menu was well thought out and catered, the tour was most enjoyable but you need to keep track of closing time, and there is a cute coffee shop where you can enjoy a drink before dinner time concert was very professional and enjoyable. The Palace is outside the old town, so taxi is required. We had to wait a bit at the taxi stand to get a ride back to our hotel. Glad we made the effort.

Marc S, Nov 2017
The setting was great, the dinner was of high standard and enjoyable. The concert was of a excellent quality. The only problem occurred when leaving late at night the cloakroom attendants refused to assist our non German speaking party which included a young child and the elderly to arrange a taxi despite being assured when we booked that these people would be helpful with this issue. We were then left wandering outside the palace streets in the dark and rain until we eventually found a train station with a taxi rank outside. This was very disappointing and had a negative impact on what would have been a very enjoyable evening.
