Why Travelers Choose This Tour
Enjoy a 3-hour tour of Berlin’s highlights, including Topography of Terror, and off the beaten path sites too.
There are walking tours and there are bus tours, but this unique Segway tour provides an entirely new perspective on the city of Berlin. It’s the perfect tour for those who are new to the city as well as those who are very familiar with Berlin. Riding on a Segway isn’t difficult, but it’s important to know how to maneuver one. This tour begins in Central Berlin at Alexanderplatz, a large public square and transport hub in the central Mitte district near the Fernsehturm. Enjoy a brief but thorough training session to make sure everyone feels comfortable and knowledgeable about their Segway. Additionally, all passengers must weight between 100 and 255 pounds and at least 16 years old to participate. With the training out of the way, it’s time to hit the open road. This Segway tour is a fantastic orientation to Berlin, providing an opportunity to see virtually all of the popular sites as well as those hidden ones that are “off the beaten path.” The tour will stop every few hundred meters to see the sites, hear fascinating stories, take pictures and discuss Berlin’s history. The knowledgeable, English-speaking guide will also explain present-day and lifestyle facts about Berlin while also being available to answer any and all questions. Some of the highlights include one of the last remaining sections of the Berlin Wall, now under historical protection; Brandenburg Gate, arguably Germany's most famous monument; Reichstag, Germany's famous parliament building; Topograpy of Terror, the former headquarters of the infamous Nazi Gestapo and SS and much more. This Berlin Segway adventure concludes back at its starting point in Central Berlin.
Jesse our Aussie (love the accent) Segway tour guide was extremely informative and knew her stuff about history of Berlin. We've been on vacation for 10 days and of all the tours that we've done from London Paris and now Berlin she was unquestionably the best tour guide as well as the most fun and interactive we've taken. Seriously the on-off buses flyby the good stuff with this tour you get to play on a Segway and make frequent stops with Jesse's comprehensive narrative at the sites you really want see.
This is best tour to see an overview of the many wonderful sights, I’m a solo traveler so this was perfect. I learned a lot of history and this tour helped me figure out how to plan the rest of my weekend so I wasn’t running all over the place. Also if you don’t want to walk everywhere this is a great alternative. But you gotta be comfortable with Segways!
This was a fantastic and thrilling as we drive on the wrong side of the road! Few hours out and about.
What made this trip was our fantastic guide, Toby.
He was hilarious, extremely knowledgeable, sensitive and great great fun.
My husband and I like the Queen! thoroughly enjoyed this Tour, he really have us insight into what is was like to live in East Berlin.
Thanks for making my husband's birthday soecial
The tour starting point was easy to find, with clear instructions provided, and friendly staff at the location.
Tobi, our guide, was knowledgeable, hilarious and looked after our little group with utmost patience and courtesy. The tour covered key landmarks especially for first-time visitors, but sprinklings of personal anecdotes and contemporary contexts were added for a much fuller story, which the group greatly appreciated. Would highly recommend for friends and family in the future.
Having never been on a Segway in our lives, this really was a fun, fabulous tour of Berlin. You have a 20-30 min lesson on how to safely navigate yourself on the Segway and our group had 2 other couples so a nice little number to tour round with.
Ronan was our informative guide and although we had seen a few of the sights on the tour by foot, this tour provided an different insight, gaining chunks of info we wouldn't have known otherwise.
Be mindful that a lot of the tour is along cycle paths but there are times when you negotiate the road/traffic lights and don't plough down the pedestrians either!
We were fortunate to have a lovely bright sunny day, although it was bitterly cold, so do wrap up well - gloves, hat and scarf/snood are a must at this time of year.
This is a fab way to see the city. Much better craic than going by foot!
We had great fun exploring Berlin on a Segway with Walid! He was funny and a good guide. Could do better with history background and clarity. Nice group size and good instructions!
We even hired our bicycles from Fat Tire the next day. 12 euros for 24 hours including helmet!
Thumbs up and highly recommend this as attractions in Berlin are not very close to each other and a Segway helps you get to more places in a day!
Awesome way to see Berlin! We were amazed at all of the things were bale to see during this 3 hour tour. Segways were easy to learn - we had never been on one before. Our guide was Tobi - and we highly recommend him. His English is very good and growing up in East Berlin, he has some really good insight into many of the things we were seeing. Definitely recommend as a way to see a lot of the former East Berlin and decide which sites you want to go back to and see more in depth.
