Great tour of Potsdam. Our guide, Jesse, really knew his stuff. Like, really knew his stuff.
Note that the cost of the tour does not include the train ticket to Potsdam nor the bus ride back to the train station from Sanssouci the palace, so bring some cash if you don't have a pass.
Potsdam is a beautiful city with a rich history and beautiful architecture. Our guide, Wouter, was very knowledgable about the region and the palaces and landmarks that we viewed he planned and executed the tour very well, giving us a thorough understanding of the city's history in a short six hours. His anecdotes and stories were very interesting and gave us lots of insight into Potsdam's history, and were delivered in a manner that was highly effective in one of the more memorable parts of the tour, he had us climb around 6 flights of steps without even realising it, because we were all too engrossed in the narrative he was delivering. Even my wife, who was afraid of the stairs upon first seeing them, didn't even notice!
We would like to thank Wouter for the extremely enjoyable and insightful experience in Potsdam, and would highly recommend going to Potsdam with Wouter as your guide!
Loved it. Our thanks to Wouter. Faultless. We learned loads on this tour which was interesting and well put together by Wouter. Impressive knowledge , very clear delivery. Professional and with great people skills. Do the tour. You won't be disappointed. Nice gentle way yo round Berlin off. Thank you.
Great tour, lots of things to see and guide gave lots of information on all of them. Tour lead by Wouter. Very good guide, easy-going, pleasant and knowledgable. If given the chance, would definitely take another tour lead by him again.
Will was a fantastic guide, knew the area and the history really well which made the tour very interesting. Would highly recommend!
Jonny was a fastastic guild. He was extremely knowledgable about the history of Potsdam and knew the transporation system inside out. Be prepared to walk! We walked 14,000 steps from our hotel, to the meeting place, on the tour, and back to our hotel. This tour is not suitable for anyone who can't walk 7 miles at a rapid pace.
It was a wonderful walk through and around Potsdam. Our guide was informative and answered all of our questions. Some members of our group didn't realize the walk was almost all outside so be aware. We saw all the great buildings and had an opportunity at the end of the tour to enter and check out anything we cared to.

It rained all day but it did not matter. The guide provided a well paced and informative tour. Be aware - a long day and a lot of walking.
This is an excellent way to see and hear the history of Potsdam when visiting Berlin. The Bridge of Spies and the site of the Potsdam Accords are excellent highlights. Our guide was most knowledgeable.
Matti was an amazing tour guide for this excursion. Everything was well organized and we got plenty of time to enjoy the city.
It is a perfect excursion if you want to relax and then discover more on your own.
Kai is a PhD candidate in Prussian studies. Can you get a more qualified tour guide?! He made the history lesson entertaining and memorable and created fun-loving nick names for the kings to help keep the lineage straight as the lesson progressed. It was a perfect balance of history lesson and sight seeing. We were mighty tired by the end of this six hour tour but would do it again in a heart beat. Wear comfortable walking shoes on this one!
Despite the fact that the weather did not cooperate the day we did the Potsdam Walking Tour, we had a wonderful day. Everyone arrived promptly at the meeting place. There was a bit of a misunderstanding about the train tickets due the wording on the tour confirmation email, though. According to the email, our round trip train ticket to Potsdam should have been paid for by Viator, that is, included in the price of the tour. However, we had to buy our own tickets.
Our guide, Matti, was excellent-knowledgeable, funny and very personable. He paced the trip very well, allowing time for photos and getting to shelter from the downpour! We had a leisurely lunch break in the old city and he recommended a number of places to eat.
I particularly liked the fact that he had a folder of historical images-maps, paintings and photos-that enlivened his narrative of the history of Potsdam over the years.

Full day of very interesting history and looking at very interesting sights.
Our walking tour of Potsdam was excellent. Our guide, Jess, is a graduate student in history at Humboldt University in Berlin. He was extremely knowledgable about German history and provided an excellent narrative. Seeing Sans Souci and the site of the Potsdam conference were highlights of the tour.
This is wonderful day out not only do you cross the bridge of spy's and walk round Potsdam you can return to the town after touring the palace and catch a later bus back to the train station for return to Berlin
Highly recommend this tour! A lot of interesting information and very good guides
This tour was excellent because Matti our guide had personally researched his information and was very informative. He took us on a journey into the past where Potsdam was a summer destination for the rich of the time. It was badly affected after WWII and neglected under East German occupation, but is now once again a sought after location for the wealthy. We met him at the arranged destination and he took us by train to Potsdam, then on a walking tour, lunch in the bustling cafe culture district which was very picturesque. More walking, a bus trip and some palace sightseeing for those who wanted to stay. We loved Frederick the Great's castle.
Excellent tour covering a range of places of historical interest and lovely areas. The history stretched from the 17th/18th century right through to the cold war. The area itself was outstanding with Palaces , Lakes, Rivers and fascinating old town.
Our guide, Torben was extremely knowledgeable and provided the right level of insight into all the features of the tour and their historical context. If you needed to go into the detail on a particular point he was happy to do so.
Definitely not to be missed!!! Potsdam is a lovely place and the best way to see it is by walking around it and we were lucky enough to have had beautiful weather. The itinerary of this tour is true to the word. Our guide Walter was well-organised, practical, friendly, and very knowledgeable, injecting sufficient humour to keep us interested and wanting to know more. These characteristics contributed much towards the success of the tour. . Although the tour ended with the Palace one can easily stay there to explore it further and getting back to Berlin is very easy. It is an-going tour but not difficult or stressful. We do suggest though that a slightly longer rest an hour instead of half would give one enough time to enjoy a more relaxed lunch.
