Excellent tour covering a range of places of historical interest and lovely areas. The history stretched from the 17th/18th century right through to the cold war. The area itself was outstanding with Palaces , Lakes, Rivers and fascinating old town.
Our guide, Torben was extremely knowledgeable and provided the right level of insight into all the features of the tour and their historical context. If you needed to go into the detail on a particular point he was happy to do so.
Definitely not to be missed!!! Potsdam is a lovely place and the best way to see it is by walking around it and we were lucky enough to have had beautiful weather. The itinerary of this tour is true to the word. Our guide Walter was well-organised, practical, friendly, and very knowledgeable, injecting sufficient humour to keep us interested and wanting to know more. These characteristics contributed much towards the success of the tour. . Although the tour ended with the Palace one can easily stay there to explore it further and getting back to Berlin is very easy. It is an-going tour but not difficult or stressful. We do suggest though that a slightly longer rest an hour instead of half would give one enough time to enjoy a more relaxed lunch.
This trip is a great contrast from a day in the city. The train journey to Potsdam was very pleasant. Our guide, Matti, described Potsdam as the Disneyworld of its day and I could understand why. Not all that you see is as old or original as you might think! The town is so quaint that you could almost believe that you are in Disney's Celebration town. However all that you see in the town is original. The trip was so interesting and gave a great insight into the competitiveness of the monarchs and the power which they wielded. The Bridge of Spies brought home the terrible conditions which those trapped in the East had to endure if they thought about escaping. The grounds are beautiful to walk through and the Sansoucci Palace is worth the visit. Matti made the day very interesting and is very knowledgeable.
Our guide was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable, funny and well prepared. An excellent tour! We elected to stay in Potsdam after the tour for a few more hours. Our guide explained in detail how to get back to Berlin. We had a very pleasant experience.
Great day with a very knowledgeable guide! Highly recommend it! :
Guide was very knowledgeable and it was fun seeing Potsdam from a pedestrian perspective.
Fantastic tour! Very interesting and guide Walter was very informative. Highly recommend this tour!
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgable and very helpful. He explained the history of each place we visited with very precise detail. I would highly recommend this tour.
we had a great day, our tour guide,JJ, was hugely enthusiastic and informative.
He made it all really interesting , with props, performed his own street art, and told some pretty bad jokes!
perfect! could not recommend the day more.11 old and 13 year old kids loved it too and 83 year old father fun for all the family, thanks , JJ!
Excellent walking tour. The tram rides and bus rides helped in minimising the walking aspect of the tour. Excellent guide.
Potsdam walking tour was excellent! The key word is Walking, and there is a lot of it so make sure you have good shoes. Matti the guide was very good giving us a lot of insight into the history of the Potsdam and Berlin area. I would highly recomend this tour!

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. Great experience catching local trains, tram and buses as well as walking the pathways and streets that make up Potsdam region. Our guide was a fountain of knowledge who took personal interest in each one of us to ensure we got max value. Would freely recommend this tour to any able bodied person. We did walk over 14 km that day. If you do go, where covered shoes as the gravel on open toe shoes is not good
Potsdam is definitely a mustsee. Its historical background is pretty complex and it is very interesting and satisfying to see German history as a whole. And our tour guide Jess was brilliant. As he is a graduate history student, he transfers his knowledge pretty objective and visual material he uses is quite subsidiary in remembering all of the figures. Most of all, his approach to all of us was quite kind and talkative. Though being exhaustive, we enjoyed the tour so much
Really informative and helpful guide and got to see all the highlights of Potsdam
Our guide also gave us a good grounding in how to use the trains so we stayed a few afterwards to see the Sansouci palace and easily made our way back to Berlin
Highly recommend it
Jess was very knowledgable and answered a lot of questions from the group. I would definitely recommend this tour.
This tour was one of the highlights of my recent European vacation! I was not too familiar with Potsdam or German history prior to this tour, and the experience has made me excited to learn even more than I did with the group.
Our guide, Jess, is an American graduate student studying history, and I could not recommend his tour highly enough. At the outset he made it clear that German history can be very confusing, but he found a way to make everything exciting and lively, he found the humor and relatable elements in a historical legacy that goes back several hundred years.
This tour is a HIKE. It was a longer walk than we'd experienced on our other tours, and on a much hotter day, but my girlfriend and I were thrilled with the experience. We got to see and experience much more than we would've in a bus, and it proved more immersive to walk through a number of places that have experienced a number of highs and lows throughout history.
Great tour, great guide...do not hesitate, book this tour!
Thanks to the wit, humour and knowleddge of our guide, Wouter, I learned a lot and had a very enjoyable day.
