This was one of the best tours I've ever been on. It is a difficult subject to broach, and I feel like we lucked out with our guide, Dennis. He was an amazing wealth of knowledge, and is a great story teller. I learned a lot, and he did a great job answering everyone's questions. It's clear he's a history expert and he went above and beyond to make this tour memorable. We had some travel snafus out of his control with the trains, and he found an alternate route w/buses so we could complete our tour with no problem. I highly recommend this tour--you will want Dennis as your tour guide.
Caroline was an amazing guide. This tour is worth doing. Please note there is miles of walking, and this tour does not stop for lunch. You need to bring food and drink with you.
Amazing guide with lots of knowledge. Such a heavy day and heavy subject. I felt I really understood what happened there. Packed a lunch and ate it there. Good day.
Excellent, Dennis was so informative and friendly! Was able to answer all follow up questions confidently too. Would highly reccomend!
Tour guide was great! Extremely intelligent and presented history in a well thought out easy to understand way.
Dennis, our tour guide was superb - he made for a very interesting tour. Highly recommended.
Our tour guide J.J. was wonderful!! He was a wealth of knowledge and his presentation was wonderful. Best tour guide we've ever had. We learned so much!
If you are going to go to a site like Sachsenhausen don't go alone. You'll need someone to tell you the story. Johnny sorry if I spelt this wrong from Nottingham was awesome!
Denis was our guide and he was absolutely wonderful - made the tour which is quite long very easy to follow and interesting and kept our attention throughout! Big 5 stars for Denis and the tour!
Denis was a great tour guide, and he used all of the travel time on the train, walking, etc. he could to tell us about the history of the camp. He told us all about the story of a single individual who stayed at Sachsenhausen. This really helped to put the history together in my mind. Denis was very knowledgeable about the region and history--having been educated in these things. He was very attentive and helpful for answering our questions.
My one small complaint is that it would have been nice to have some more time to explore around the camp on our own my wife really wanted to see the infirmary, for example. But you can't do everything in one day, of course--there is always more to see!
I definitely recommend this tour as an excursion for anyone staying in Berlin who cannot make the trip to Auschwitz in Poland, as was the case for us.
I am very glad that I decided to book with TripAdvisor, rather than going on my own with only an audio tour. There was no stress of finding the location, as they met us directly in Berlin Mitte. As well, I found my guide Adrian focusing on a more sociological viewpoint to be extremely knowledgeable on not only the site, but the social and political context around it. As it can be a very heavy experience, my guide helped to keep it informative, yet not overwhelming.
The tour guide JJ was extremely knowledgable, clear in describing every part of the tour. You can see he is passionate about the information he is giving, which makes the tour even more interesting. We didn and #39;t get to say by bye! 5 STAR!
The tour was incredible and moving. Our tour guide Sarah was so knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter and the tour itself. Would highly recommend !!!
Tour was fantastic. I was so impressed with our guide Kathryn and her extensive knowledge and patience. She was interesting and answered all of our questions. Highly recommended and request Kathryn in you can!
excellent,if your considering this tour just book. i thought about doing myself but so glad i didnt no way you would be appreciate this place properly without a guide. highly recommend. our guide was very passionate.
Our tour guide was very interesting, and knew a lot of details! I would 100 go on the tour again! She really knew her information, and was helpful with questions. The tour gives you an idea about everyday life in the camp.
Our tour was incredible. It was a moving and sobering experience during which I learned a lot as well. Our tour guide, Rick, was great and his studies in related areas meant he was able to provide insightful context into how these events previously were and are viewed from a educational perspective.
Lorna the tour guide was very informative. Was not rushed through this tour. Though a sad place, highly recommend this for tourists.
This tour was chilling, informative, and unsettling as one can imagine. I highly recommend this tour if one is interested in learning how grim the past was during Nazi time.
Had an incr edible tour guide, Darren, he made the tour an incr edible learning experience, and it was done with such sensitivity and passion. I am so glad I signed up for this tour. Sound d like it would be too long, but some of it is the travel back and forth. Highly recommend this tour!!! Ask for Darren!!!
