5 star rating: Highly Recommended July 2016

Had a great day on the Big Island with these 2 tours. Day began with a very punctual pick up from my hotel in Hilo, heading up to the visitor centre in Volcanoes National Park and on to Jagger museum to see the Kilauea Caldera during the daytime. Ended the day seeing the glow of the Caldera at night. In between had a very enjoyable ride around the Volcanoes Park, a walk through Thurston Lava Tube, visits to Lava fields, a Black Sand Beach and many other sights. Lunch and Dinner were both great, and the guides on both tours very friendly and informative, especially Pono whose knowledge of plants and trees was extremely detailed. Had a super day, and can recommend as a great way to see this part of the Big Island.

4 star rating: Recommended January 2016

Loved the bike ride! Loved the guides! Loved the food! However, I was not fully aware of the details on second half of the tour and could have done without this with exception of the awesome guide who is a local, knowledgeable and entertaining. I had already seen the black sand beach, kilauea at night, and the other local beach with major volcanic rocks, so the second part was not worth it for me.

I would like to make a recommendation to the company.... It would be soooo awesome to make this a biking and hiking tour. This will exclude the hours of driving back into town and you can focus all your time at kilauea. Also, the tour would not be sooo late, that the guests in Kona get back close to midnight. My recommendation is to make the second part of the tour a seperate tour. My recommendation is that after the bike tour to go back to the lava tube. Across from the lava tube is a trail that descend through a lush rain forest to the floor of the solidified Kīlauea Iki Crater. I think it then ends so you can take byron trail and then you can take devastation trail. It is 4 miles and it was beautiful. I loved this hike. This will minimize the customers time sitting in a van keep the people going in one beautiful location and get them home at a decent hour.

Thanks for the day though, it was good, but would not repeat unless the hiking was involved

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better October 2017

The guides were great but this tour was from 8:30 AM until 11:30 PM my wife and I were stuffed into the back seat of an old van and we felt every bump and vibration. Considering we spent about 7-8 hrs, in the van of the total 15 hrs. of the trip it was very uncomfortable. We did get to see some great lava flows the bike ride was fun. Considering we spent 500.00 I was expecting 1st class service. There were 11 or 12 people in the van at all times there should not have been more then 8. They really need to upgrade the transportation.
