    Please meet us at Keauhou Harbor, 30 minutes prior to your time of departure. When you arrive at the harbor, we'll be parked near the boat dock. Look for a white van with lights on top. It can be difficult to find us in the dark, so please call if you don't immediately see us.

What To Expect

Board your boat at Keauhou Harbor in the evening, allowing you to reach the manta snorkeling site just in time for sunset. You’ll get a short introduction to the feeding habits of these wondrous creatures from your on-board naturalist as you travel to the snorkel site.

Once you arrive, grab your snorkel gear and get ready to experience this one-of-a-kind natural phenomenon. Snorkeling is optional, so those who choose to remain on board are free to enjoy the sunset. Those who choose to snorkel will jump in the water and grab onto a ‘light board,’ which helps attract plankton to its glowing surface. A certified swim guide will be nearby to help in the unlikely event there are any issues..

Soon the mantas will begin their aquatic ballet, swooping and diving through the water as they feed on the plankton attracted to this site. When your snorkel time is up, head back to your original starting point. You’ll leave your trip with unforgettable memories of this unexpected natural phenomenon.

I had a hip replacement so I would not recommend the trip for those with limited mobility because getting in the boat was fine but climbing out and back in was daunting enough to keep me in the boat.
We highly recommend this activity if you are in Kona.
This is for sure a must do for anyone that goes to the big island.

This was the most incredible experience we had on our trip!!! I know I’m not suppose to say this but normally you see about 3 mantas, we must have seen 12+. What a majestic creature, so graceful and unique. Our Captain and crew were wonderful and helpful, from the moment we checked in to departure. Very safe, clean, and friendly!!!

This was truly amazing. The staff was helpful, friendly, we got in and out quickly. The staff was very knowledgeable about mantas and clearly care about them and research them in addition to being tour guides. All pros But the mantas!!!! There were four at the same time. They come so unbelievably close as they scoop up the zooplankton. I mean… CLOSE! Wow just wow

My husband and I did the Manta Ray Night snorkel. It was an experience, but I can’t say I would do it again given the price point. The crew was knowledgeable and nice. It’s quite pricy and while it was a neat experience, it wasn’t amazing like a lot of people describe it. It was ok. We saw a few rays, but they’re not huge and sighting was few and far between. I wish they’d provide a wet suit and not just the top. It was pretty cold and I was relieved/glad when it was over. I was happy to get out of the water.

We actually missed our trip, by 5 min. We have been on many excursions and this was a first. She said she called at time to deport but left no message or didn’t text . . And had a Michigan number not Hawaii!! Typically we are reminded the day before and then again the day of. That was not the customer service we received from this company maybe because this was such a small business they don’t follow up with with customers. We’ve learned our lesson the hard way stick with the more well know companys!!

Aloha - we apologize for the inconvenience of you being late to the tour. We send confirmation emails at the time of booking and reminder emails 24 hours before the tour, and we ask our guests to arrive 30 minutes before the tour. If you arrive 5 minutes after tour time, you are 35 minutes late. We did call you before the tour, and you didn't answer your phone. Our staff uses their personal cell phones to call guests who are late (the staff is already at the harbor or on the boat), which is why you received a call from a Michigan cell phone #. We run up to 7 manta ray snorkel tours per night, and we run on schedule, which is why we ask guests to arrive 30 minutes early. We can not hold up the tour for guests that are running late, as that will unfairly delay all the other tours that evening. When guests do miss their tour, we rebook them or offer a credit for a future tour. We are one of the highest-rated tour companies on the Big Island, and one reason is that we run on time. If you are going to show up late for a tour, then blame the tour provider for you being late, that is very unfair to the tour provider. This review should be removed because it is not our fault that a guest arrived late, did not answer their phone, and missed their tour.

Fantastic experience with very nice people. For me it was the only experience I can equate with skydiving, Predjama and sunsets over Lake Garda. Just please make sure your camera is set up and your mask and snorkeling gear is set up, you are going to want to see and film this.
