Receive an included pickup from your hotel in Kona, Kohala, Hilo, or Waikoloa around noon. After enjoying scenic views of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea volcanoes on the drive to Hilo, you’ll stop for an included buffet-style lunch to fuel up for your adventure.
Continue after your meal to your hiking route on the slopes of Kiluaea volcano, located just outside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. You’ll follow the lead of a certified ranger who will guide you on a hike of between 4.5 to (7.2 kilometers) to one of the volcano’s more active eruption sites. As you walk you’ll also gain new insight into volcano geology and learn about the Hawaiian story of Pele, the goddess of fire. Cap off your hike by viewing a glowing hot area of molten lava.
Finish the trip at Uncle Robert’s Awa Bar and Farmers Market for a celebration complete with live music, food vendors and plenty of lively ‘Aloha’ spirit. After the farmers market, you’ll end your trip with a drop-off back at your hotel.
