What You Can Expect

Blue Mountains 4WD Tour

Blue Mountains 4WD Tour including picnic lunch

Beat the crowds on this small-group tour of Blue Mountains National Park by four-wheel-drive vehicle. Your full-day tour begins with pickup at your Katoomba or Leura hotel or the Leura train station (an approximately 2-hour train ride from Sydney). Travel with a small group of no more than 16 people into the heart of the famed park, which straddles the Great Dividing Range and is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Visit some of Blue Mountains’ more secluded sections that are inaccessible to tourist coaches, including awe-inspiring lookout points over Grose Valley and the Three Sisters rock formation. Learn about the geologic and cultural history of the park from your knowledgeable guide, and hear ancient Aboriginal legends of the land. Get an up-close perspective on the park’s natural attractions with short guided walks through eucalyptus forests and lush, waterfall-dotted valleys.

Take a tea break midmorning, and later enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch at a secluded and picturesque site. Savor a generous spread of dishes accompanied by a cheese platter and Australian wine. Continue exploring the hidden treasures of Blue Mountains in the afternoon, before returning to your original departure point at the end of the approximately 7-hour tour.

This tour was amazing. Spiro our guide was very knowledgeable and he took us through the Blue Mountains National Parkshowing us the flora and fauna. We visited the lesser known places, i.e. Not the places that tourists normally would go. The tour came with an excellent gourmet lunch.

We enjoyed a wonderful day, made more special by the energetic hospitality provided by our guide Gynes! He puts so much effort into making everyone in the small group feel included and comfortable. He imparted lots of interetsing trivia and gave us all many laughs as well! The places we went were largely away from the crowds and simply awsome! The day was well-paced and accomodating of small personal requests. Lunch was yummy too! All in all an excellent day, full of wonderful memories including a snake we came across on a narrow track!! Highly recommend.

What a great tour. Unfortunately the weather was foggy and overcast which prevented us from viewing the three sisters and much of the Blue Mtns beauty but that did not hold our guide back who gave us several options for our afternoon from wine tasting, cave hiking or kangaroo searching. Our guide Dru Cave took us to a spot that offered us close up views to kangaroos in the wild. Actually to be more specific Kangaroos in the mist. The refreshments and lunch was an elegant plus in the beauty of the park. I only give four stars because next time when the weather cooperates Im sure we will be entranced by the Three sisters!
