What a fun way to get to know the region...through food, wine and people. Leonora was an excellent guide, personable, engaging and informative. Learning about Balsamic vinegar production was fascinating, plus I brought some home that is delicious. We saw all steps of cheese making except milking the cows...amazing that two people handle so much of the production. Touring the procuitto factory tested our hunger limits so it was great that it was followed by a scrumptious outdoor lunch in a beautiful setting. In addition to learning about the food and culture, our tour was enhanced by the people we met from all over the world. A thoroughly enjoyable day.
A great way to learn about and taste the fantastic food of the region.
We visited a cheese factory which makes the famous parmigiano reggiano cheese, a traditional balsamic vinegar factory, and a prosciutto factory. We observed the production process and indulged in some delicious tasting.
Afterwards we went to a countryside restaurant to enjoy 2 hours of several courses of delicious foods and wine from the region.
Our host for the tour, Allessandro, was brilliant in explaining the food-making processes and generally ensuring everyone had a good time. We had our 11 year old daughter with us, and Allessandro got her involved in the day's activities.
A memorable and most enjoyable day!

This is a must do. Was excellent from start to finish. Informative and great fun. The light lunch was amazing. Highly recommended. Would do again. Loved it. A highlight of Italy.
EXCELLENT! We had a fascinating day, well balanced with great food, drinks, information and fun! The guides were awesome.
This was one of the highlights of our Italy tour. The food produced with passion. The lunch with wine tasting tops it off. What a fantastic day.
If you have only one day in Bologna make it this tour!!!
Pick ups time was early but needed to ensure that we got to our first destination on time which was the parmesan cheese farm. The demo was very informative and the breakfast was lovely - taster of three different aged cheeses, sandwiches and pastries washed down with Lambrusco. After that we visited a prosciutto factory very small and Balsamic Vinegar family run business, both were small in comparison and we were invited to taste the produce. After all this, we had a delicious lunch up in the mountains with a spectacular view. This is a definite MUST DO to anyone visiting Bologna. Thanks to Eleanor who was extremely knowledgable.
This was a great tour that I would definitely recommend. Our guide was enthusiastic, passionate, and knowledgeable making it both an enjoyable and informative day. We were very impressed by the processes for making Parmigiano-Reggiano, Traditional Balsamico, and Prosciutto and the tour definitely changed how we view these products. We enjoyed the tastings at each stage, especially tasting the various forms of balsamic vinegar which are quite confusing, and very expensive to purchase without knowing if you like it! We had the opportunity to purchase products from each of the three producers, which was a nice way of getting special products, with a story/history that we can better appreciate, at a fair price. As others have mentioned the lunch is especially overwhelming with endless food and wine. Do not eat before you go and dont make dinner plans for this day! The food was all superb as well and they clearly did not cut corners to serve a large group. Overall a really great experience!
Fantastic! So much accomplished in a day- came home very falloff delicious food and memories to match--a definite GO!
Excellent tour! Our tour Guide Eleonore was very knowledgeable and funny. We had a great group of people and a great time. The parmigiano-reggiano factory was amazing...but hard for me to breath as I can't stand the smell of milk...yuck!!! But I LOVE cheese...
The balsamic factory was also great, so much to learn. And the prosciutto factory was also very interesting. We had great bites to eat with wine, and lunch after all the tours was great. The restaurant was overlooking the beautiful mountains, the sun was shining and we had amazing homemade Italian food.
Francesco, our tour guide, really made this an amazing experience. He's very charismatic, funny and full of energy! The tour, itself, was outstanding! I now know more about cheese, balsamic vinegar and prosciutto than I ever imagined I would. The breakfast that is provided is good, but the lunch is amazing! We had an absolutely stupendous time!!!
