Great day tour, good guides, very organized, snorkel tour boat picked us up right at Bloody Mary's
Our Bora-Bora 4WD tour was the highlight of our 10 day experience in French Polynesia. It provided the opportunity to see a good portion of Bora-Bora, stop at the iconic Mother Marys for lunch and to have a spectacular snorkeling experience with stingrays and lemon sharks along with another snorkeling experience that can best be described as a fish aquarium in the lagoon. Great value for the experience that I highly recommend.
Jean for the 4WD tour was so informative. We learned so many things from him! Bloody Mary's was fantastic. The waiter hustled so we could meet up with our next guide even though it was packed. Lastly Toiki our shark, stingrays guide was beyond incredible! An experience I will never forget, ever!
Fantastic day on Bora Bora. 4WD atound the island and up into the steep hills for glorious views with our Brazilian driver. He was a character, but gave us lots of knowledge about the island and was great fun. We were then dropped sat Bloody Mary's for lunch, which was also fun then we weere met by Tioki or close for our shark and stingray snorkel. I think he had Romantic Cruise on his cruiser. Let me say he was just gorgeous. Not only in body but a lovely man and we had the best time swimming with sharks, then outside the reef with gorgeous fish and again inside the reef. We were a party of eight and we all had a fabulous day. Finished off with a storm and ended up drenched and shivering but an absolute great day.
Fantastic views from 2 summits only accessible by 4WD with our excellent tour guide Alex made the beginning of this excursion one to truly remember. Then a tasty lunch in the shaded quiet of the historic Bloody Mary's restaurant energized us for the remainder of the day as guide Sam took us out not only to snorkel with the sealife in calm waters but also BEYOND where the waves crash upon the reef to snorkel in even deeper waters. Sam dove below the waves to coax an enormous moray eel out of its cavern to the surprise and delight of the group. Excellent, varied full-day tour that's recommended to the adventurous.
Excellent day , very good guides for both morning and afternoon . Fully recommended
The 4WD trip was great. I thoroughly enjoyed it - what incredible views from the peaks!!!. Our guide Jean Baptiste was incredible, giving the highlights in flawless French and English. He also gave us musical accompaniment at various stops lovely songs about Bora Bora. Being in the waist high water with the sharks and stingrays was a real highlight - the stingrays feel like silk as they slide past. Lunch at Bloody Mary's was delicious. I totally recommend this tour.
PS Make sure you have reef shoes for the water activities on Bora Bora!!
Tiba was our guide for the 4WD part of the activity. In a group of 8 he skillfully drove us around the island in a open truck. We visited beautiful scenic vistas, a fruit grove where we enjoyed fresh coconut milk, grapefruit and star fruit slices, and a pareo factory where the simple garments were made. Several members of the tour group volunteered to show how to wear pareos, which was good to know. We bought several of them to give as gifts on our return home. By the way some of the steep hills that we drove up and down truly needed a 4x4 truck. The tour provided us an excellent look at the island of Bora Bora and a nice glimpse of its culture. It was a blast, great job Tiba. When the truck tour was completed we were let out at Bloody Mary's Restaurant. We had a very nice meal and a chance to relax before the next activity. With lunch completed, we boarded a small motor boat for the snorkeling trip. Our captain was named William Will. First he took us to a wonderful coral reef where we swam with and observed a multitude of tropical fish including a 5 foot barracuda. Then to a shallow sand bank where we swam and interacted with large stingrays and blacktip sharks. Will was so familiar with the rays that he had names for them. He even had me and my wife kiss one of them. Finally, he drove us outside the barrier reef where we swam with lemon sharks. Will actually whispered them to the surface. This part of the tour was of the once of a lifetime category. Excellent job, Will.
This tour gets a perfect rating from start to finish. The tour guide on the 4x4 portion, Daniel I believe, was very personable, kind, funny, and informative. He took us on the island tour and did not skimp on any aspect. We sampled local fruits and coconut water, saw land crabs, took in the amazing views, experienced the history of the WWII site, and were part of a fashion show of local traditional garb. After we parted with Daniel we were taken to Bloody Mary's. There was nothing special about the place and the food was okay and the namesake Bloody Mary was pretty good. The stand out was the interesting pulley system in the bathroom, go check it out. After a quick lunch, it was onto the showcase snorkel. This was the best and most memorable part of my whole trip. Our guide, Nicholas, was very funny and gave us an experience I will never forget. Swimming among the rays, sharks, and coral was perfect. My advice would be to invest in a waterproof action camera, because there were some amazing photo/video opportunities on this part of the tour. I would highly recommend this excursion overall.
Great tour with great guides. Driving up the mountain in the 4WD in pouring rain was a little scary, but our terrific guide put us a ease with his great personality. We really enjoyed the sarong tie-dying demonstration and then they showed us various ways to wrap a sarong. Lunch at Bloody Mary's was very good -- good drinks and good food. The stingray snorkel stop was awesome, our tour guide fed the stingray, so they were numerous stingrays swimming all around us. Our stop for the shark swim was great, but unfortunately I did not participate as the water was too deep for me.
