Overview

Experience an abundance of postcard-perfect photo ops on Bora Bora with a 3.5-hour tour by open-air 4WD truck. Gaze out over Bora Bora’s famed turquoise lagoon from several lookouts including East Matira, Faanui Canon and Amanahune Bay. You’ll see a demonstration by local artists, check out vestiges of World War II and taste delicious tropical fruits at a plantation. Circle around the entire island in the morning or afternoon, or select a sunset tour that includes a glass of sparkling wine.
  • 3.5-hour guided tour of Bora Bora by 4WD
  • Stop at several lookout points to take in stunning views over lush foliage and turquoise ocean
  • Check out US military artifacts left behind after WWII at the Faanui Canon lookout
  • Watch a short demonstration by local artists who make tie-dye sarongs and coconut oil
  • Learn about Bora Bora’s Polynesian culture and traditions from your expert local guide
  • Sip a glass of sparkling wine while watching the sunset (if option chosen)
  • Enjoy a cooling breeze while traveling in the open-sided SUV
After pickup from your Bora Bora hotel or Vaitape Pier at your chosen departure time, board the 4WD vehicle, perfect for scaling any mountain or rough track on the volcanic island. The truck has a shaded roof and open sides for optimal viewing throughout your 3.5-hour tour.

Your expert guide circles the entire island — an approximate 20-mile (32-km) route around Bora Bora. Stop at a lookout point at East Matira for exceptional views of the sparkling lagoon bordered by lush green mountainsides. Follow up with more vistas from the Faanui Canon lookout, where you’ll find evidence left behind by US troops after WWII.

When the 4x4 truck reaches the Faanui Valley, watch artisans demonstrate how to create tie-dye sarongs and make coconut oil, and sample tropical fruits at a small plantation. Your last stop is the Amanahune Bay lookout, which features more stunning views along with rock formations that were once inside the volcanic caldera of Bora Bora.

If you selected the sunset tour, sip a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and listen to live local music while watching the sun slip past the horizon.

Your circle-island 4WD tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

We did the sunset tour with champagne toast. Teama was our tour guide and he was extremely personable, friendly, funny, and a great musician! He was also knowledgeable about the history of Polynesia. The total tour was about 1.5. He took us up to two lookouts for pictures, the second lookout for the sunset where he played ukelele and sang. My wife is still singing the Tahitian song about Bora Bora! She plays guitar/ukelele and trying to find the music on the internet, but has not been able too. Teama if you see this review and have the chords/lyrics she would love to have them!

In my experience with guided tours, the guides make or break the experience. Teama definitely delivered a romantic evening for us and made this an unforgettable night. If your looking for something romantic to do on Bora Bora, this is it. However, if you want to see more landscape and take more photos, the day or afternoon tours are probably better.

We unfortunately were unable to make this excursion. A N/A choice should be available if the star system is a required field.

Teama was our guide. His personal touch to this tour made our honeymoon great. Beautiful sunset, nice surprise, and I can not say anything but great about him. He sang songs and played ukulele while driving in the same time his 4WD. His technique was quite something.!!!

Great tour - Santiago is a great guide. Bora Bora is a beautiful island and you need to see it up from up high to see just how beautiful. Our guide new so much about the island and the culture. Seeing the war monument was one of the main reasons we took the tour and he got us up there. Seeing how the people lived and learning what is important to them - gardens and families! You don't want to miss this one!

Our young guides were lots of fun and took us to some roads that were rough, steep, but spectacular views. We had sparkling wine for the sunset, along with a ukele serenade by our guides. We really had to hold on going up and down hills, so a little more physical than we expected.

Got to see some beautiful views and US history on this trip.

Little touristy at the end but this is how the economy is on the island but still well worth it.
