This was honestly the best excursion and the highlight of our Bora Bora honeymoon. It was absolutely
perfect, it was fun, adventurous. We had an amazing lunch by a local family which was absolutely DELICIOUS! we had the best tour guides Hina Nui and Sam they were so great! SWIMMING WITH SHARKS AND STINGRAYS were definitely an experience and we loved every single moment of it they even took us to eat sea urchins who knew you can even eat the meat inside!! Honestly everyone who comes to Bora Bora should do this tour!
I chose this one based on description and reviews and it did not disappoint. Hina Nui and Will were our hosts and in spite of a disability which makes me the worst swimmer ever, Hina Nui cared for me like I was the only one there, while still watching after the other seven delightful guests. We met with the sting rays and black tipped sharks, snorkeled in beautiful water and went to a private home on a small private motu, where we were treated to a delicious lunch all very fresh with all manner of beverages, including the adult variety, all enjoyed right on the beach. We were the led on a small hike through the garden/jungle where we emerged at the reef and the beautiful breakers that we had only seen from a distance on all of the other islands. It wa a beautiful day a very personal tour.
Will as Captain/guide of our canopied outrigger was outstanding. His coherent knowledge of all that we saw stamp him as a wonderful ambassador for Bora Bora. Our hosts on the motu where we lunched were patient and provided the nice small touches.
Oh my gosh!! Where to start to tell you how terrific this tour was? Having only 12 passengers was excellent when it came to moving around the boat at the various stops. We had the absolute best guide and operator in Will Hinanui and Vairea. They were a great team, handling everything with ease. The feeding of the sharks was amazing -- a once in a lifetime experience. We were taken to another area where snorkeling was great with clear clear water!! Lunch was served at a home with a white sand beach, tables along the beach covered with the usual palm covering. Lunch was prepared by the wife of the couple who was so gracious and caring, besides the excellent lunch that was served. It was so peaceful you didn't want to leave!! We were all crowned with headbands made by the boat operator from palm fronds. He made it look so easy.
We must tell you we were not prepared to walk in the water from the boat to the shore. Being 80 we didn't know how we were going to do this tricky maneuver. However, never underestimate the kind and thoughtful people in this world. We both needed assistance navigating through the shallow waters knee deep where there are holes in the sand where we were told fish lay their eggs. In other words, walking is up and down depending on how many holes are on your path to the beach. Passengers were so quick to offer help, each one getting on either side of us so we could journey ashore and back again. If any of our fellow passengers are reading this, may we offer once again our thankfulness for your kindness!! You made that part of the tour so special. We will always remember you!! If anyone is planning this type of activity, think first of Bora Bora Romantic Tour because you won't be disappointed!!
I had an amazing experience on this tour. The Bora Bora Lagoon is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The Motu where we had lunch had a breathtaking view across the lagoon looking towards the iconic Mount Otemanu. For me, the sting ray experience was kind of scary as they rub up against you and are very bold in their behavior, but if you want to have an up close experience with sting rays that is what you will get. The sharks kept a little more distance and that was not as intimidating.
The boat itself is in excellent shape and brightly painted, the two member crew were very friendly and helpful. Glen had a nice voice and entertained us during much of the trip and Hinanui had a beautiful, rich voice and her lovely harmonies added to the enchanting experience.
We had an amazing experience on our lagoon snorkeling trip! First, Will picked us up at our resort. Only one other couple was on the tour that day, and it was great that it was so small! Will was very friendly, and told us what all we'd be doing. First stop? Feeding and swimming with the sting rays, which was so cool! They're almost like his pets. He knows them, pointed out which one was pregnant, and helped us get comfortable petting them and feeding them. This was in an area of the lagoon where you can easily stand with water shoes or flip flops on. There were also a few black tipped reef sharks here, but the rays were the main attraction. Next, snorkeling! There's an amazing reef on the north side of the island where you can snorkel for as long as you'd like! There were hundreds of varieties of fish and coral. It was so beautiful! Will knows where one of the eels lives, and tempted him out of the reef with some food. It was amazing to see such a huge eel! Will also helped us film video with our GoPro and took a video of me feeding the fish with a piece of food he gave me to hold - so cool! Then we were off to a close-by area to swim with a LOT of black-tipped reef sharks. There had to be at least 20 of them swimming around us and the boat. Again, we could stand here, so it was easy to move around and put your face into the water to see them. Finally, we were off to the home of Pictor sp? and his wife who had prepared an amazing lunch for us! By now you've read or heard about the raw tuna with coconut milk and lime juice. Amazing! We had champagne, beer or soda, and a great meal! Then we walked to the other side of the islet where we saw the Pacific Ocean outside the reef/islet area. It was majestic, and after seeing the surf crashing over there, you really appreciate the calm tranquility of the lagoon even more. Will showed us how to open a coconut, and helped us each take a turn, and we drank the coconut water right out of half of it. He then shredded the coconut meat, had the men take a handful and press it to make coconut milk, and we all enjoyed it! There was a restroom that we could use at their place, which was nice. We relaxed on the beach for a while before heading back to the hotel. It was truly a great experience. I would have liked to stay and snorkel a bit longer at the reef area, but there were other things to get to. Nothing at all to complain about. Will was amazing as were Pictor and his wife. Will took pictures of us whenever we asked him to, and offered frequently. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bora Bora. It might be a bit more expensive than others, for instance, ones your hotel might offer, but I think it's worth it. The boats that I saw leaving our hotel had more than a dozen people in them I really enjoyed just having one other couple on our trip. They were fun and we interacted well together. The sights are amazing and Will truly knows where the sea creatures live so he's able to show you things up close and personal.
This was our favorite excursion of our Bora Bora trip and quite possibly our favorite of all time. Our two guides, Toiki and Nana, were fabulous. After being picked up by boat at our hotel, we took a short sail to a shallow area of the lagoon. Nana and Toiki fed stingrays DOZENS of them, small sharks as well as some circling birds. We were nervous at first, but they showed us how to interact safely with the animals. My husband was brave enough to feed them. The stingrays swim RIGHT UP TO YOU stingers have been removed!! The sharks circled the outside of our group. Nana and Toiki took lots of photos of and with us. From there, it was back on the boat and another sail to a gorgeous coral reef for snorkeling. The current was too strong for manta rays on the day of our excursion. We then went to a private motu small, flat island for the most delicious meal of our entire stay. Our hostess showed us how to prepare the traditional Tahitian raw tuna salad with coconut to die for! and made us drinks. We lounged about the beach for a while then returned to the hotel on the boat. This was absolutely worth the money. I would absolutely do it again if we return to Bora Bora. Water shoes would have been VERY helpful - the area with the stingrays and sharks is quite rocky. You will also want a waterproof camera.
I had an amazing trip in Bora Bora. The boat excursion was wonderful. Our guides Jo and Nana were superb and helped make the day a day I shall never forget. The island lunch was great. All in all, a fabulous day in a fabulous part of the world. I can't wait to return and repeat the magical day!
They met us at pier where we got off the cruise ship. This snorkel cruise is small only 12 people, the crew is excellent with our guides Jo and Naana, We swam with stingrays, reef fish and black tip reef sharks.
we had lunch with a local family at their home on the edge of a motu, the views were amazing and for lunch they provided us with salad and bbq meats . They showed us how to marinate raw fish in coconut milk with onion celery which got to eat, their service was exceptional.
I would like personally thank Jo and Naan for extra help as I suffer with a disability with their help I was able to experience this great adventure I will never forget. I felt safe all the time as Jo and Naan swam with us for extra safety. We also was given a keepsake bandanna.
Fantastic tour!! Jo and Nana our guides were sensational. They were super friendly and full of information, we couldn't have asked for better guides. We got to swim with stingrays, reef fish, then sharks. All the locations were great, the stingrays are real friendly and the reef sharks were plentiful!! Our lunch was with a local family at their house on the edge of the water, the views were amazing and so was the food and their service. This was by far the best tour we have done and it's something we will never forget. We highly recommend anyone wanting a great day tour in Bora Bora to get on this tour it's sensational.
Excellent small group excursion swimming with stingrays and sharks which were respectfully treated by our guide followed by wonderful Barbecue lunch in a picturesque spot. Thoroughly recommended
The minute we were off the tender we were welcomed onto the tour. This had to be the highlight of our cruise. Nana and toiki were amazing host as were Vincent and his partner who supplied the best food since leaving Sydney harbor. This trip is a must do!!!
Had a great time on our excursion, our guide joe was a blast, the lunch was excellent ! The hosts were very friendly and cordial, after 5 mins we seem to be life long friends. The highlights of the trip was feeding the sting rays. But best of all was watching the Manta Ray. That is an experience I will never forget
The tour was amazing! There was only us and another couple, it was more like a private tour. Our guide was nice and fun, foods served for lunch was amazing. We had raw tuna coconut salad, BBQ mahi mahi, chicken and beef. Shark and ray feeding was such a great experience!
Really awesome. Our guide was Glenn--took us swimming with sharks perfectly safe, don't worry, followed by swimming/feeding stingrays again perfectly safe, then took us to a spot to see Manta Rays which was stunning, then two seperate coral/fish spots to see the sights and in one instance barracuda. The BBQ lunch was fantastic, especially the local fish/coconut milk dish. Would highly recommend this tour--the 6 couple limit keeps it very manageable and you definitely get your money's worth
If you take this tour, try to Glen, as your host. The guy is such an expert on the area and so nice. I was an intermediate snorkeler and he helped get me to the best sites. My wife is a very novice snorkeler and Glen made her comfortable too.... the tour itself stopped at a good five snorkeling sites other island snorkel tours I've been on had maybe two stops. All were spectacular. The water was so clear. Then of course the BBQ island lunch was delicious with four meats!. If you like snorkeling at all, take this tour!
On a scale of 1 to 10, all other snorkel tours on all other tropical island are now at best a 5 compared to this tour on Bora Boara. Everything was that good.
We were on an 18-night cruise from Sydney to Honolulu with stops in between... by far this was the best excursion of the vacation.... maybe ever! Fun, safe, comfortable and entertaining... we will do it again!
A great day. Swimming with the sharks and stingrays was amazing. Experienced, friendly staff and a nice barbecue lunch on a motu, too. Highly recommended.
Wonderful adventure! Intimate trip with 12 people Teiki and Nana gave great customer service throughout the whole excursion. The luncheon was fantastic great drinks and food. Teiki singing and playing made the whole adventure memorable.
GREAT TOUR, WE ALSO GOT TO FEED THE STING RAYS, AND SWIM WITH THE SHARKS, TOUR GUIDE WAS EXCELENT.
This adventure was a highlight of our time in Bora Bora! Teiki and Nana were amazing guides on a perfect day filed with sharks, stingrays, fish and food! We highly recommend this tour. It could not have been better!
This is an absolute must! Warren and Nana were amazing. They took us to the best spots. We swam with sharks, stingrays and tons of beautiful fish. The coral garden was wonderful as well. I would highly recommend this tour. It is definitely a must do in Bora Bora and they are a class act. Loved every minute!!
This was the highlight of our Polynesian cruise. If I could give 6 stars to Glenn and Nana's tour, I would. They are a beautiful and fun couple. Snorkeled with sting rays, Sharks, barracudas, and manta rays. The BBQ lunch on the motu was very good. Singing and dancing included. Would do this again in a heart beat!
