Pick up is offered from select Boston hotels or a central meeting point in the morning for this sightseeing tour of the neighboring towns of Cambridge, Lexington, and Concord.

For the first part of the tour, head north over the Charles River and off to nearby Cambridge, home to two of the world’s most distinguished universities—Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Drive by historic Harvard Square, not only the oldest part of the campus but also the center of its history. Also see Cambridge Common, a public park located near Harvard Square where General George Washington gathered troops during the American Revolutionary War.

Then in Lexington, visit Lexington Battle Green, the historic town common where the opening shots of the American Revolutionary War were fired.

The tour continues along Battle Road Trail between Lexington and Concord, which marks the path taken by British soldiers during the war. It is also the road Paul Revere took to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock that “the British are coming” (although he didn’t shout the phrase as legend has it).

Finally, in Concord, see the homes of Louisa May Alcott, author of the classic novel 'Little Women,' and essayist and poet Ralph Waldo Emerson. Plus, stop by the Old North Bridge, a historic site in the Battle of Concord, the first day of battle in the Revolutionary War.

The tour ends with drop-off in central Boston.

Only 7 of us on the bus with our wonderful tour guide Sam I Am! He was fun and very knowledgeable. Even though in December most the visitor centers are closed, we had a great time and had a small group experience during the quiet misty grey days of December. I would highly recommend this tour and encourage you to get Sam as your tour guide. We got the whole history of the Redcoats march to Lexington and Concord, saw the key battle sights, and really got the flavor of the first moments of our country.

Wish we had exited the bus to see Walden Pond even just for 15minutes. We just drove by it. Otherwise liked the tour.

We had an excellent experience on this tour--from start to finish. It was very informative--the narrator was extremely knowledgable and easy to listen to. I learned history I'd never known about! We felt well taken care of (rest room breaks!) and the timing was spot on. I especially enjoyed the Alcott home and the tour there, as well as a quick drive by of Walden Pond.

Tour guide was Sam - knew his stuff! This tour is worth taking and glad we had a very knowledgeable tour guide. We took the short tour 5 hours. At the beginning of the tour we did ask were we were going to be dropped off and they said where we started - not true. Should have read the drop off location better in the original flyer. Don't expect anyone to help you with directions - your on your own.

Sam I Am is the best! He was so knowledgeable and fun! We had been on a New England cruise but did not have enough time. Came back to Boston after the cruise just for this tour. It did not disappoint!
