I had one day free from work and decided to book this day trip. I was hesitant since I was on my own and was concerned about all the different modes of transportation and how difficult it might be to navigate. It turned out, there was nothing to worry about. The trip was so well organized! I was picked up on time, given all the tickets we needed for the day and everywhere we went, there was someone with a sign letting us know they were the ones transporting us on the next leg. The sights and scenery were beautiful and everything I hoped for. I even met some great fellow travelers from other countries that I ended up spending the day with. I opted to take the three hour extra tour on the island and I highly recommend that. We hit all the hotspots and were given several opportunities to walk around the area we were in and take photos and explore. The day went so fast even though it is a long one. I would recommend this to anyone!

Definitely a full day trip, but an enjoyable one. We left Boston bright and early and drove down to Woods Hole to catch the ferry to Martha's Vineyard with one brief rest stop about 2/3 of the way down. After the 50 minute ferry ride to Martha's Vineyard, you have the choice to see the island on your own or take a 3 hour bus tour. our If you have not been to Martha's Vineyard before, be sure to take the 3 hour add on tour. Our driver was super! He definitely knows the history and where everything is located! We saw lots of interesting places and learned things we never knew before taking this tour. We had plenty of time for lunch after the tour was over before we had to head to the ferry for our return trip to Woods Hole where our smaller coach was waiting at the ferry terminal to take us back to Boston and drop us off at our hotels or as close as the driver could get those who wanted to be dropped elsewhere. We did not make a rest stop on the way back as everyone wanted to get back to Boston as many had dinner plans. etc.
Great trip and we highly recommend it!

Just fabulous! The three hour tour is a must and needs to be booked in advance. I wish we had spent the night in the island so the following day we could stay on the beach. Next time! FYI, there's no vineyard nor wine tour, but it is gorgeous!

Great day trip, glad we decided to book the 3 hour tour of the island otherwise you don't get to see the highlights of Martha's Vineyard. It is well planned and timed to give you time at the stops on the tour. The tour guide drivers were great.

This is a great trip for anyone wanting to see Martha's Vineyard. I would also recommend the 3 hour bus tour while on the island. Dan the driver going to the ferry was full of information, water and snacks.
Since you'll have about 6hours on the island, the 3hr. bus tour is great and you still have time to shop and have lunch.
