We had a great time. Bob the tour guide was amazing. He was able to keep the drive interesting. This is a very long day. Due to Boston traffic, we didn't get back until late. We felt like there was definitely enough time to see everything we wanted to, even during the busy Halloween season.
My husband and I, we had an excellent time! We definitely recommend this tour to know more about Salem!
Great guide/driver in Bob. Appreciated the extra stopping at Seven Gables and discounts at various places. Would just say the Witch museums were not quite what I expected and disappointing overall. Witch Museum is only 2 presentations. They do cover the history, but it's not a museum where you look at things at all. Lines are often long, and there is TIMED ENTRY. So if this is something YOU want, get in line as SOON as possible if you want to see before bus leaves. Witch Dungeon Museum was also just so-so...a presentation and a tour through dungeon. Liked House of Seven Gables and Hawthorne House better than Witch museums. Would have liked to see the Peabody Museum.
We did 5 Viator tours while in Boston. Everyone of them was fabulous. They were well run. The tour guides were all knowledgeable and accommodating. The sights were all worthwhile. Our guide for Salem was Ron. He related interesting history facts and gave us information on what to see and do in Salem.
All around a great day trip from Boston. If you want the full Salem Halloween experience, that deserves its own trip, but as a way to see a good portion of the city and judge if you'd like to come back, this is a great way to do it. the couple of stops on the way have some nice views as well as interesting history. Once in Salem, you are on your own which is a nice change of pace from some other day trips. Spend your time however you want. I found I had time for two museums, another small attraction, some lunch, a little wandering around and then dessert, so plenty of time. I was also given coupons to two attractions that I used which was nice. Knowledgeable guide as well. No complaints at all.
Wonderful day with Bob, our guide. Such a knowledged and sweet man. Loved that he talked the whole trip, giving us all kinds of wonderful tidbits about Salem and Marblehead. Had a wonderful time. Thank you.
Had a wonderful time. Bob, the tour guide, was fantastic. He knew all kinds of historical facts, and some very interesting things and places to see. The only regret is that we didn't have more time. I would definitely recommend this tour!
Great to sit back and relax and let someone else do the driving. Driver pointed out interesting sights along the way. Even got a tour of Boston. The bus driver/guide we had was a retired gentleman who did the job for love not money. He took us to Marblehead, to the House of the Seven Gables and then dropped us off in the centre for four hours. Would definitely do it again...
Fantastic tour would highly recommend it. Bobby our bus driver and tour guide made the day enjoyable, interesting and appreciate Salem city and the towns we drove through giving an in sight to the area.
Salem was great! Ron, the guide, was A-maz-ing! Definitely would recommend this. We would even pay to go again...lol
Tour was fun and scenic. Bus was comfy. Best part was our driver/host Davy. He is a boston native and had interesting stories to add to the tour. Salem is worth visiting.
This was a nice tour. The guide was extremely friendly and even stopped at one extra place that was amazing to see ( Castle Rock). The only negative was the AC was quite cooling the bus and it was a little stuffy.
Excellent day trip with Bob at the helm - funny, knowledgeable and kind. Got very worried when people did not return to the bus on time and even took every passenger back to their individual hotels in Boston if they wanted to. Bus left on time and well organised departure.
We were on the last trip of the season 24/10 and Bob changed the itinerary so that we could get to Salem before the huge crowds which he anticipated and visit museums etc. in a more relaxed manner.
Well worth the money especially, as I guess, it would have mad on the train / ferry due to the number of visitors in Salem that day.
Cheers Bob - may see you again one day.
This tour was amazing! The tour guide, Bob, was so knowledgeable with the history of Salem and the surrounding communities on the way to/from Salem. Given how busy it was in the city with the October festivities, Bob made sure we had plenty of time to tour the city and see the museums. Bob made the journey very enjoyable, and I highly recommend him as a tour guide!
I was expecting Salem to be a bit...more. Nevertheless, it was a bit of a learning experience and Bob was an amazing driver/tour guide! He was funny and responsible for his people, and knew so much about the area! There was a little mix up dropping me off at my hotel he thought he heard The Renaissance when I said Residence Inn but he took me directly to my hotel's front doors at the end of the day. You're the best Bob!
This was a very comfortable bus ride with beautiful views of the countryside and a great guide
Our tour guide/driver Bob was the best! He was very informative. We highly recommend this tour.
The guide Jerry was great, very informative. Leaving the driving to him was the best idea ever! I traveled alone and it was fine so don't shy away if you are a solo! I could have used more time in Salem since it was so crowded something to consider for future October tours.
