Peles Castle was the most magnificent castle I have ever seen! It alone made the trip well worthwhile. Out guide, Traían, was very punctual, well organised and a walking encyclopaedia of knowledge

Peles Castle MUST do! Bran, touristy... Rasnov, best parts are closed for renovations. Worst of all, if single, you still pay for 2... Guide was very knowledgeable!

Our tour started with our guide, Traian, picking us up at our hotel. He was on-time and the van was very comfortable. The tour started right away with Traian telling us about the history of the area and answering our questions. We then went to Peles, Sinaia, and Bran, had a nice lunch at Bran, and finished with a cable car trip up to Rasnov Fortress. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend the trip to anyone trying to see the area. It felt like the right amount of time at each location.

Castle beautiful- tour guide a bit disappointing

The castles were really interesting and beautiful. Such a shame we had a guide that did not seem to like his job too much! Our tour guide on 1 of September was in general nice and knew a lot about history and historic numbers, still we felt a little bit uncomfortable with him. When asking questions we often were corrected (sometimes also falsely as we got to know with another tour guides the following day) like in school, so soon we tried to avoid further questions. Also we were rushed a bit and tried to fit in some photo stops on our own. Bran castle is not the real Dracula castle, still if you do a tour there, the visitors should not get the impression you hate that castle! It spoiled the trip a bit! What disappointed also was that the tour was advertised as 3 castle tour, though we only got out of the car to see the Rasnov castle from far away! I think, it would be more honest to promote the tour as a 2 castle tour instead as to not raise expectations too high! As we only met very nice people in Romania and passionate tour guides in general, this tour was one of our first disappointments on viaor, yet i would go anyway to see this amazing castles!

Peles Castle is simply amazing! I visited lots of castles in France, Denmark, Italy, and Britain, but this one is one of my favorites castles! Unfortunately, Rasnov Fortress is still in renovation, for at least 2 more years, they say.

The only way to do it

The three castle tour was absolutely worth it. You can go to these castles yourself and stand in line and read what little info is provided, or you can hire these guys. Traian definitely knew his Castles and his Transylvania, and his Romania. I ended up with a private tour which does make it more expensive (the cost goes down per person with more people), but it also made it pretty unique. All the things in the description are true. You go to three castles and you skip the lines. We parked closer than you will by yourself and probably covered each castle in half the time without this. You get more info on each inch of each castle than you will know what to do with. It's a whirlwind of a day, but the only way to do it.
