Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Visit two national parks, both part of the UNESCO-listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia.
Your day starts with morning pickup at Brisbane Transit Centre and a scenic drive through Numinbah Valley with views of Mt Tamborine. Approximately 62 miles (100 km) south of Brisbane, you reach Springbrook National Park, which lies within the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage area.

Follow your guide on a hike that takes you into the rainforest and past waterfalls in this lush landscape. Hear about the region’s diverse wildlife, which includes more than 1,700 species of flowering plants and 500 vertebrate animals. Keep an eye out for pademelons (similar to wallabies), goannas, Australian water dragons and Australian brush-turkeys.

Near the arched rock of Natural Bridge, you can see Cave Creek waterfall as it plunges into a pool below as well as a cave with glow worms, which resemble tiny stars on the cave walls. Be on the lookout for Australian wildlife such as rosellas, king parrots, bowerbirds and kangaroos.

In the afternoon, take a guided tour of the Tamorine Mountain Glow Worm Caves at Cedar Creek, for your final rainforest walk of the day. See an audio-visual display on glow worms, whose brilliant blue-green lights are actually emitted by the tiny larvae of a fungus fly. Step inside the second cave filled with thousands of glowing worms!

Stroll along the Curtis Falls track, a moderately challenging 1-mile (1.6-km) trail that includes 101 steps. Descend beneath towering gum trees to the viewing platform over Curtis Creek, then continue down to a second platform overlooking a waterfall that cascades into a large rock pool.

After the drive back to Brisbane, you're dropped off at your original departure point.

It is amazing to see the tiny blue lights produced by the worms. The walk through the rainforest was very educational.

Brian was a great host, very knowledgeable and friendly. The hikes were not very hard, but there are steps. The sites were beautiful. We had 10 people on our tour and it was the perfect size. This was a great day trip!

Lovely day, James our guide very helpful and informative. Just a pity that the drought meant the creeks and waterfalls were not very full.

Seeing the glow worms & waterfalls up close was a very memorable experience! It started to rain the moment we enter the rain forest, which was like icing on the cake! Overall the entire package is very ideal if you are looking for spending a day without too much exertion. Shane was our tour guide & he did a splendid job! P.S. Try to avoid sitting in the back seat of the minivan if possible ;)

Hi, Thank you for your Review. You certainly were special - it rained. I amd sure you will be aware that we have been in a drought for a while and any rain is a blessing. Also the forest looks it best in the rain - true! We are aware that any back seat can be a little cramped which is why we always keep a spare seat on that tour so we only have 3 across the back not 4. You should have said something I am sure Shane would have rotated seats. Thank you once again. regards Jo

a real nature experience

This trip is a day full of nature experience. After driving up into the montains there are nice walks, not to exhausting. The nature itself is just great. THere is some driving to and from the place, however, this is acceptable. The guide even pointed out another short hike ínstead of the visit at the tourist village.

Better guide would have made it better

Driver would not allow food or drink on bus. Weird at 730 when no one ate breakfast yet, no mention of bathroom before leaving Shane was our guide for the hurried walk through rain forest. Glow worms were great and that was worth the trip. We were told to be done with lunch at 1pm. At 1:23 no one could find him. Weird. We rushed through lunch only to be waiting around confused. Realize he is sitting in the bus. Weird Rest of the tour was fine. The time spent in town was too much. An hour with not much to do in town, except spend money. Guide advertised free wine tastings but every winery charged five dollars for a tasting. Overall, guide wasnt personable and seemed to have no interest in any of it.

This trip was a little different than I expected. We were picked up in a bus that held about 20 people and it did not have wifi or charging stations, which is okay. The driver was very pleasant and explained the sights as we drove. Please note, parts of the drive are curvy and you can get car sick! We first stopped at the natural bridge and we hiked down to see this beautiful cave and waterfall. The guide was good about not setting a fast pace and everyone was able to keep up. There are stairs and inclines on this hike. We had a great day and saw this beautiful cave and waterfall. To our added surprise we got to see a python in a tree on the way back up to the coach! From there we drove up to the glow worm cave and lunch. The cave is manmade and you can't take pictures for reasons that they explain (they don't glow when there is light)! Lunch was very good and you get a good variety to choose from. From there we went to another waterfall and a quaint little town that offered a neat variety of shopping experiences. It is a bit of a drive to and from the city, so bring a book or something to do on the way there and back.

Hi, Thank you very much for your Review which was thoughtful and helpful to future travelers. You were on one of our bigger groups. We average around 11 guests per tour and our maximum group size is 21. We agree the road is "curvy" in parts but the views are spectacular in the country sectors. We are glad you enjoyed the tour and lunch. For readers the drive Brisbane to Natural Bridge is 1h 20min Tamborine to Brisbane 55min. Again our appreciation for your time in writing this Review.
